Straight Fire with Jason McIntyre - Kyler Murray is Killin' 'Em, Lamar Jackson is on a Kaepernick Trajectory & James Harden to the Nets?
On today’s episode, Jason opens things up by sharing some quick thoughts on a few of the minor Sunday headlines, including: the Los Angeles Lakers’ brilliant trade to acquire Dennis Schroder to help bolster their chances of winning back-to-back NBA titles, Drew Brees’ injury scare and how it could impact the New Orleans Saints moving forward, and why the New England Patriots’ upset victory over the Baltimore Ravens was huge for the wiseguys in Las Vegas. Next, Jason does a deep dive into the ‘Hail Murray’ pass from Kyler Murray to DeAndre Hopkins to help the Arizona Cardinals steal a win against the Buffalo Bills. Murray is easily the most exciting player in the NFL right now, and he’s closing fast on Patrick Mahomes in the race for the MVP. While the NFL seems to have figured out Lamar Jackson, Murray has taken his game up another level. Speaking of Jackson, he still hasn’t shown the ability to come from behind and win. Even more concerning, however, is that he seems to have taken a step a back in Year Two with offensive coordinator Greg Roman. Let’s not forget that Roman was calling plays for another athletic quarterback who took the League by storm only to come crashing back down to Earth a few years later: Colin Kaepernick. Later, Producer Rob joins the show to help Jason make sense of the rumor that James Harden may look to force a trade to the Brooklyn Nets. Harden, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving would instantly become the favorites to win the East, but are we certain the trio would have the chemistry needed to win a title? Who’s going to fall back and become the third banana? If the trade goes down, it’s going to be fascinating to watch it play out. Finally, Jason closes things out with the Monday Night Football edition of the Best Bet.
