Detroit Tigers beat Texas Rangers 2-1 at Globe Life Field in Arlington. Tarik Skubal pitched 6.2 innings allowing just one earned run while striking out 11 and without walking a Texas Rangers hitter. Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers were tied 1-1 in the 8th when Matt Vierling drove in the go-ahead and eventual winning run on an RBI single to center field. Will Vest earned his 16th save of the season recording the final out of the 8th inning and all 3 outs in the 9th. Detroit Tigers avoid the sweep at the hands of the Texas Rangers and now head to Pittsburgh to take on the Pittsburgh Pirates.
