Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Odell Beckham Jr Goes Hollywood, Rough Night for the Ravens + NFL and College Football Best Bets
On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a quick thought on Cam Newton's return to the Carolina Panthers. Nobody is really expecting much of out Cam on the field this season, but it does make for a cool story. That's about it. The big news of the day, however, took place out West as free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr decided to sign with the Los Angeles Rams. OBJ arrives in Tinseltown with a lot of buzz, but the reality is that he hasn't been an impactful player on the field in years. Can we really expect him to suddenly turn back the clock and start producing like he did back with the New York Giants? More importantly, are we sure that Matthew Stafford is willing to put up with all the headache and histrionics that come along with OBJ? Willing to be the answer is 'no' on both counts. Later, Jason touches briefly on the Miami Dolphins' upset victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football. If we've learned anything about the NFL the past few weeks it's that is it almost impossible to predict what's going to happen game to game. Entering Thursday, Lamar Jackson was in the running for league MVP and the Dolphins were one of the worst teams in all of football… so it’s only fitting that Miami turned in a dominant performance and made Jackson look wildly mediocre in primetime. Finally, Jason closes the show with a very special NFL and college football weekend edition of the Best Bet.
