El libro ENIGMA fue escrito con una intencion: tratar de explicar el exito del Partido de la Liberacion Dominicana (PLD) y de Leonel Fernandez para mantenerse en el poder, por medios legitimos e ilegitimos, y hacerlo de una manera que permitiera aprender de errores propios y que, como resultado y aprovechamiento de esto, pueda ser util en la lucha contra la corporacion PLD y su legado.
Los primeros siete capitulos estan destinados a mostrar los recursos, procedimientos y practicas empleados por el PLD para conservar el poder desde 2004 a pesar de una gestion carente de meritos y de hecho haber presidido la mas corrupta e ineficiente administracion publica que se registre en la historia dominicana. El PLD de Leonel Fernandez y Danilo Medina se sustenta en la articulacion, tan inteligente como despiadada, de una vision estrategica y su rigurosa implementacion tactica.
El recorrido de las elecciones de 2006, 2008, 2010 y 2012, efectuado en los primeros siete capitulos del libro, permite apreciar el conjunto de ilegalidades incurridas por el gobierno pero tambien la coherencia con que ese poder auspicio, dirigio y financio esas ilegalidades frente a una sociedad hasta hace poco desmovilizada y un estamento politico en gran parte anticuado.
