POST CAST: Wild Smother Dallas in 6-1 Game 1 Win

The Minnesota Wild opened their first-round playoff series in dominant fashion, rolling to a 6–1 win over the Dallas Stars in Game 1. Minnesota set the tone early with a power-play goal from Joel Eriksson Ek, then blew the game open with three goals in the second period from Kirill Kaprizov, Ryan Hartman, and Matt Boldy to take a commanding 4–0 lead. Dallas briefly got on the board late in the second on a power-play goal by Jason Robertson, but never seriously threatened.

Minnesota kept control in the third, adding another power-play goal from Eriksson Ek and an empty-netter from Boldy to seal the blowout. Boldy finished with two goals and an assist, while Kaprizov and Mats Zuccarello each had three-point nights. Rookie goaltender Jesper Wallstedt was sharp in net, stopping 27 of 28 shots as the Wild outplayed the Stars in nearly every phase to grab a 1–0 series lead.
