New York City is a city of neighborhoods, and Greenwich Village is no exception. Its cobblestone streets, historic brownstones, and lively restaurants make it one of the most frequented neighborhoods. Greenwich Village is a lively, urban neighborhood with many cafes, bars and restaurants, jazz clubs, Broadway productions, and historical brownstones. It can be a great place to explore as a tourist. Writers and poets, artists and radicals, runaway socialites, and others seeking freedom from conventional lifestyles have long flocked to this spot, lit most famously by the counterculture figures of the 1950s and '60s: Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, James Baldwin, Bob Dylan, and others. Danny Fields is an American music manager, publicist, journalist, and author. As a music industry executive from the 1960s to the 1980s, he was one of the most influential figures in punk rock history.
