Straight Fire with Jason McIntyre - Tension is Building Between Arians and Brady, Mahomes is Worth More Than $500 Million & Time for an NFL Bubble
On today’s episode, Jason shares his thoughts on the latest report that there is growing ‘tension’ between Bruce Arians and Tom Brady in Tampa Bay – and that was before the Buccaneers got blasted by the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. We had to say we told you so but… we told you so! Arians and Brady have been in an ongoing power struggle from the day Tom arrived in Tampa. The Bucs are still almost a lock to make the playoffs, but don’t be surprised if all that tension ends up with them going one-and-done in the postseason. Speaking of the Chiefs, did you see what Patrick Mahomes did to that vaunted Bucs secondary? At this rate, that $500 million contract is going to look like a bargain in a few short years because Mahomes has GOAT potential. Moreover, it’s becoming clear that the NFL needs to do something drastic if they have any hope of getting through the season. The Baltimore Ravens-Pittsburgh Steelers game had to be postponed twice due to a COVID outbreak, and the Denver Broncos had to be play on Sunday without a single quarterback on their roster due to contact tracing. It just might be time for the NFL to move to a bubble for the last four weeks of the season. Later, Producer Rob joins the show to help discuss which NFL head coaching vacancies are the most appealing now that the Detroit Lions gig has officially become available, and if the struggles of Andy Reid-disciples Matt Nagy and Doug Pederson could end up hurting Eric Bieniemy this offseason.
