The Bourne Legacy is a perfect case study for what happens when a series is getting tired, so you bring in a new guy to breathe new life into it- and it really works! until the final half hour, where it's heroic attempt to reach out of the pile of slop, like Sandman in Spider Man 3 attempting to impose order on his constituent parts through sheer force of will, eventually fails and it collapses back into formless, meaningless Bourne-slop. Or something like that
