The Trials of Claus von Bülow: Science on Trial — Ep. 4 | MK Confidential

The Megyn Kelly Show

“MK Confidential” returns to the courtroom as Claus von Bülow stands trial for a second time. Three years after a jury convicted him of trying to murder his wife, and one year after Alan Dershowitz helped overturn that verdict, Claus wants to be publicly exonerated.

It is the spring of 1985. Sunny von Bülow has been unconscious for more than four years, while Claus arrives with a new lead attorney and a radically different defense. Thomas Puccio strips away the fortune, the mistress and the spectacle of Clarendon Court, reducing the case to one question: Was Sunny ever injected with insulin?

Megyn Kelly traces the defense’s attack on the prosecution’s case: inconsistent lab results, a needle that may have been staged, a doctor who changes his testimony, disputed interview notes, and a financial motive the jury never hears. Will Claus’s former mistress return from Europe to testify? All the while, Sunny’s children plead for justice for their mother, who can no longer speak.

After eight weeks of testimony, twelve sequestered jurors must choose between two stories: an innocent husband destroyed by bad science, or a calculating killer who nearly got away with murder. This is Episode 4 of the Claus von Bülow story.
