Chris and I recorded this interview when musicians were starting to perform in front of live audiences again. Eager to perform with his band in front of live audiences again, Chris had a concert called "Time Between Concert Series," which I attended. Chris Hillman is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a four-time Grammy nominee, a three-time CMA nominee, a three-time ACM award winner (Academy of Country Music), and a recipient of the AMC Lifetime Achievement Award...He is a true musical pioneer.
He was the original bassist of The Byrds, with frequent collaborator Gram Parsons. Chris was a key figure in developing country rock, defining the genre through his work with The Byrds, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Manassas, and the country rock group The Desert Rose Band.
