Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Big Weekend for the Boys, Lamar Jackson Needs the Ravens to Get Desperate & the Latest on Kyrie Irving
On today's episode, Jason and Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) kick things off by discussing the weekend that was in their personal lives. While Rob was swooning at a John Legend concert in Las Vegas, J-Mac was busy raining threes en route to a rec league championship; Safe to say both guys feel like winners this morning. Later, Jason and Rob go deep on the report that Lamar Jackson is seeking a fully guaranteed contract (a la Deshaun Watson) from the Baltimore Ravens. While both guys agree that Jackson should look to get all he can, neither one is optimistic that it's actually going to come to fruition. The Ravens have been far too successful for far too long to just bend over backwards like the Cleveland Browns did for Watson. If Jackson wants a fully-guaranteed deal, he's going to need Baltimore to get desperate. Finally, the guys close the show by sharing their thoughts on a slew of reports to come out surrounding Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving. While they all might seem contradictory of their face, Jason and Rob generally agree that they all seem to suggest that the mercurial point guard will get traded at some point before the season starts. It's just a matter of when - and where to - at this point.
