Victor and is 5 siblings grew up in a Portuguese, Catholic household. His parents immigrated to the United States in the late 60’s to give their family a better life.
But Victor’s life was one that was lived behind a veil to who he truly was. He tried to ‘fit in’ and live a ‘normal’ life, but because Victor was not your typical heterosexual man, he lived a dual life in the shadows of his sexuality. Victor finally found the courage and strength to stand in his truth, and has, through hard work and a giver’s heart, become a leader in his community and a respected Superintendent for the school district he serves.
