Within the recently released "JFK Files” there is a reference to a “Bobby Dyllon” and informant number “T-3390-S." This recent discovery has led to a quick consensus among many JFK assassination scholars that “Dyllon” is the lynchpin between an unknown FBI informant at the heart of a conspiracy theory that scholars are now just beginning to accept as truth: that the “Watergate” scandal was not at all what it seemed; the downfall of a corrupt politician, but was instead, the overthrow of a president––Richard Nixon––who was about to reveal the truth about the Kennedy assassination. Bob Dylan’s––or “Bobby Dyllon’s”––surveilled actions, now unredacted and detailed in the JFK Files, come very close to proving this so-called “conspiracy” theory as historical fact.

Slipknot was the most extreme thing to come out of Iowa since taco pizza was invented there in 1974. Their sound was massive: nine masked members played with brutal force, propelling their fans, affectionally known as "maggots," to a cathartic release of destructive energy at every show. But when two teenage fans claimed that the band's songs inspired them to commit murder, the destructive energy Slipknot had so far controlled began to tear the band apart.

Dennis Hopper revolutionized American cinema by bringing the counterculture to the mainstream with his 1969 film Easy Rider. Richard Pryor was one of the funniest people who ever lived. He elevated stand-up comedy to an art form. Country songwriter Townes Van Zandt was an incredible talent who toiled in obscurity. Most of his albums never sold more than a few thousand copies. The World Series-winning 1986 New York Mets were, in a word: assholes. But their fans loved them anyway. The Mets were brash, scandalous, addicted, violent, and when you got right down to it, a perfect reflection of their hometown of Queens, New York, and the perfect opposite of Manhattan and the hated New York Yankees who played there. The ‘86 Mets made headlines with their drug use, their on and off-field brawls, their nights in jail, their destruction, and, of course, their domination of the National League. They also made Mets fans and Queens residents focus on something other than the true crime case in the papers that summer, a case that threatened to sink Queens’ reputation with a scandal involving corruption and the mysterious death of a beloved Queens politician outside Shea Stadium.

William Friedkin's film The Exorcist terrified audiences upon its release in 1973. They fainted, vomited, and went into hysterics in the theaters. Some overwhelmed viewers left early, only to return the next day, buying another ticket to see if they could make it to the end. But the story behind The Exorcist is just as compelling as the story on the screen. The film's production was marred by tragedy and the unpredictable behavior of its volatile director. The novel the film was based on became a best seller largely by happenstance. And the events that inspired the novel were so horrific and shameful that one man would spend his entire life trying to keep them a secret.

Harry Houdini was the world's greatest escape artist and at the height of his powers was one of the world's most famous people.
