Alex Cyr, Katelyn Tocci and Michael Doyle talk about Wahoo's forthcoming "Kickr Run" treadmill, with legitimately might be the best piece of running tech since the super shoe. They also chat about boutique brand Tracksmith's $700 analog watch (which is already sold out), and another crazy innovation by the Swiss brand On Running (spoiler alert: robots can now make super shoes in under six minutes, with nothing more than a glue gun).

Then, they share their favorite workouts, the weirdest workouts they've ever done, the neatest locations they've run one, and the workouts they fear most.

Hosts: Alex Cyr, Katelyn Tocci, Michael Doyle

Our editors Alex Cyr, Katelyn Tocci and Michael Doyle discuss the ultra GOAT Courtney Dauwalter's return to the Hard Rock 100, one of the toughest races in the world. Katelyn explains why Dauwalter has emerged as one of the greatest distance athletes of all time, and puts her performances in context.

Then, they talk about Alex's foray into the world of indie brands launching shoes, including Rabbit, Tracksmith and Mount to Coast. Are these shoes any good?

Finally, they have a roundtable chat about when you should consider getting a running coach, how to select the right coach for you, what it should cost you, and even how to break up with a coach if it's not working out.

Marathon Handbook editors Alex Cyr, Michael Doyle and Katelyn Tocci gather together for their weekly group chat.  Katelyn just ran a marathon in New Hampshire, where there was snow at the start line and she ran down a big ol’ mountain (01:32).

It was her first in many years, so we thought it would be a great opportunity to unpack how each of us recovers when the goal race is done (23:19), and also how we get up off the mat, and refocus and the importance of goal setting.

We share with you each of our own big goals for the rest of the year and beyond (39:07).

And then, Alex, our Lord of the Shoes, explains this golden era in “super trainers,” the Frankenstein category between a super shoe and an everyday trainer, with recent releases from the likes of Hoka and On Running (56:27).

Alex shares his thoughts on whether or not these shoes are the Goldilocks for workouts and long runs, if they are worth the pretty high cost of adding them to the roster, or if they are just marketing hype.

Marathon Handbook was founded in 2016, with the mission from day one of helping you to run far, set goals and meet them. We provide free and super popular coach-vetted training plans for just about every distance and ability level, from your first 5K to a sub-3 hour marathon, to a 100-miler training plan. We've got you covered. We also follow the latest news and storylines in the running world, and review all the best shoes, running watches and gear on our site and our Youtube channel.

At our heart, we are runners and athletes ourselves – every person on our team is a running coach, distance runner, or certified health and fitness trainer.
