Who is Mark Lintern?

Mark Lintern is a graphic designer from Stafford who, after being diagnosed with skin cancer and losing a close friend to the disease, spent eight years researching cancer. His work culminated in the formulation of the "Cell Suppression Theory," a groundbreaking perspective on cancer that challenges mainstream views. Lintern's theory is notable for its ability to explain the Hanahan and Weinberg Hallmarks of cancer, which serve as a framework for understanding the complexities of the disease.

Despite having no formal medical background, Lintern's dedication and innovative approach led to the publication of his book The Cancer Resolution?, which was recognized as the Best Indie Book of the Year in 2023. His work has garnered attention within cancer research circles, even leading to a presentation at the "Cancer Through Another Lens" event, where his findings were scrutinized by panels of cancer experts

Who is Dr. Charles Brenner?

Charles Brenner is the Alfred E Mann Family Foundation Chair in Diabetes and Cancer Metabolism in the Department of Diabetes & Cancer Metabolism. His laboratory focuses on disturbances in nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD), the central catalyst of metabolism, in diseases and conditions of metabolic stress.

Among his most significant discoveries, he identified nicotinamide riboside as an unanticipated vitamin precursor of NAD. He also developed a quantitative metabolomic technology that allowed him to discover that the NAD system is disturbed by many diseases and conditions of metabolic stress including diabetes and cancer.

Specifically, Dr. Brenner and colleagues have found that in animal models of fatty liver, type 2 diabetes, diabetic and chemotherapeutic neuropathy, central brain injury, heart failure, postpartum and coronavirus infection, the NAD system is disturbed. In these models, provision of nicotinamide riboside is highly protective.

Dr. Brenner led the team that conducted the first clinical trial of nicotinamide riboside establishing safe oral availability and has participated in trials establishing safety and potential activities of nicotinamide riboside in clearance of liver fat and depression of common markers of inflammation. He continues to research how the NAD system is dysregulated as a function of postpartum, coronavirus infection, inflammatory conditions, diabesity and specific malignancies with the dual goals of defining mechanisms of biological regulation and developing safe preventative and therapeutic interventions for people.

Drawing from the current scientific literature and the wisdom of traditional cultures, her work is known for being research-focused, thorough, and sensible. Lily's clinical expertise and extensive background in prenatal nutrition have made her a highly sought-after consultant and speaker in the field.

Her work in the field of gestational diabetes, which presents a revolutionary nutrient-dense, lower-carb approach, has not only helped tens of thousands of women manage their gestational diabetes (most without the need for blood sugar-lowering medication), but has also influenced nutrition policies internationally. You can learn more about her approach in her bestselling book, Real Food for Gestational Diabetes (and online course of the same name).

Lily is also the author of Real Food for Pregnancy, which provides an evidence-based look at the gap between conventional prenatal nutrition guidelines and what's optimal for mother and baby. With over 930 citations, this is the most comprehensive text on prenatal nutrition to date. Since its publication, it remains the #1 bestselling book on prenatal nutrition.

Lily's third book, Real Food for Fertility (co-authored with Lisa Hendrickson-Jack), is a comprehensive resource on optimizing preconception nutrition — for both partners — to improve outcomes in fertility, pregnancy, and beyond.

In addition to her books, Lily is the Founder of the Institute for Prenatal Nutrition®, where she mentors other practitioners on perinatal nutrition, and is the co-founder of Women's Health Nutrition Academy, which offers individual webinars on a variety of women's health topics.

You can learn from Lily's extensive library of articles on LilyNicholsRDN.com and her research briefs on Instagram.

Who is Dr. Catherine Clinton?

Dr. Catherine Clinton, a licensed naturopathic physician, has spent over 16 years helping people overcome their health issues. Diagnosed with two autoimmune conditions and Lyme disease while in medical school, she began the long and difficult journey of healing—a path that led to the commitment to help others heal not only physically but also return to the relationships we evolved over millennia with for a deeper sense of health and belonging.

By healing herself and patients like her, she discovered that true health comes from our relationships. Dr. Catherine has learned how our quantum biological system is intimately and inseparably connected to the world around us. Our relationship with the dirt beneath our feet, the sun, the wind, the water, the plants, the seasons, and each other is the real medicine.

Her mission is to empower as many people as possible with this knowledge to encourage the paradigm shift we so desperately need.

Who is Cynthia Thurlow? She has worked in clinical medicine, both in the ER and cardiology, for nearly 20 years. Although she respects the power of conventional medicine to treat disease and save lives, she began to think more about the root causes of chronic health issues. Soon, she recognized the powerful relationship between food and her patients' health and wellness. This led her to do advanced training in nutrition and functional testing so I could help others enjoy optimal health before they needed emergency care.

She is currently a nurse practitioner, intermittent fasting and nutrition expert, and a two-time TEDx speaker. She is passionate about helping women find wellness through the healing power of nutrition and fasting. Who is Dr. Torkil Faero?

Torkil is the driving force behind the book The Pulse Cure and the social website thepulsecure.com.

He is a general practitioner and emergency doctor, documentary filmmaker, author, photographer and globetrotter. As a medical student, he was the first to go abroad for Norwegian Doctors Without Borders when he worked in war-torn Angola in 1996. Through 25 years as a freelance doctor, he has worked in municipalities all over the country, had tens of thousands of consultations and gained a unique picture of the diseases that plague us. He has learned that the cause is most often found in a lifestyle that stresses our body. He wanted to do something about that.

Torkil is concerned with how we can get the most out of life. In the book The Pulse Cure, he explains step by step how we can use the heart rate monitor or the smartphone to get to know our own body better and gain better control of the stress balance and the autonomic nervous system.

Torkil himself has been given a new life by making several smart lifestyle changes. His hope is that everyone who wants better health and more energy to live life to the fullest will benefit from the measures he himself enjoys so much. He also has a big wish for the healthcare system: That it works preventively to a much greater extent and provides help for self-help than is the case today.

Torkil Færø is also an award-winning photographer who has published photography art books, held exhibitions, and held photography workshops in many countries. He is an enthusiastic long-distance walker and has made the NRK films about pilgrimages to Nidaros and Santiago de Compostela. In his previous book, THE CAMERA CURE, he combined medical and photographic knowledge into a unique book about therapeutic photography, where coping with life is combined with taking good pictures. Faero has traveled by backpack, bicycle, motorbike, kayak, boat, and car in over 80 countries and speaks eight languages. Torkil is married to Tone, who is also part of the team at Pulskuren.

After a personal wellness journey, Ryan founded Test My Home to help others achieve optimal health. He personally experienced the detrimental effects of mold exposure and lead inhalation, which caused unusual and serious health symptoms like fatigue, weight loss, and brain fog. After unsuccessful attempts with conventional doctors, Ryan took the initiative to investigate his home environment and found the source of his health issues. He cured himself and is now sharing his knowledge and experience with the world.
