Alan Macey thinks about cars differently than we do. After graduating from Art Center of Pasadena (arguably the best school for automotive design in the world), he interned at VW, and then worked as a designer at Jeep. He sees cars differently than us. We see a panel gap, and he knows why it's that size. He understands the constraints designers have when they design a new car. He also created the Manual Gearbox Preservation Society ( links below).   We talk about design, Bugatti, VW, challenges of selling a new car, and then we get into a DEEP conversation about AI, the future of car ownership, and argue about how soon it will all arrive.   It's a good listen.

Vaughn Gittin Jr is a Formula D and D1 champion, and one of the funnest people around. He won his first Formula Drift title in 2010, and has more tandem battle victories than any other driver in 10 years of Formula Drift history.

In 2005, he became the first American ever to win a D1 Grand Prix, and took the title for USA in the 2007 World Championship.

Brett Berk's fascinating story has landed him pretty  high up the automotive journalist food chain. He only has to drive the finest cars, he (admits) he isn't that fast on a track, and when it all began, he was a school teacher. He is a great example of someone who arrived at a job by taking a different path than most of us, and can now say he's written for some of the biggest publications on Earth. This was a great, illuminating, hilarious show.
