We're off for our August hiatus, but we couldn't go quiet without re-sharing one of our favorite conversations from the past year. As we head into a new season — both literally and personally — this conversation about finding your style through life's shifts felt like the right one to revisit.

What happens when your body, your life, or your routine changes, and suddenly nothing in your closet feels like you anymore? In this week's episode, Liv sits down with stylist and author Allison Bornstein to talk about finding your style again through life's shifts: pregnancy, postpartum, new jobs, breakups, or just new eras.

They chat about making peace with your closet, letting go of the clothes that "ask too much" of you, and learning how to dress for the person you are right now vs the person your clothes could hold you to be. Allison shares her signature Three-Word Method, tips for rebuilding confidence when your body changes, and why the goal isn't a perfect wardrobe, but a kinder relationship with the one you already have.

We're off for our August hiatus, but we couldn't go quiet without re-sharing one of our favorite conversations from the past year. After last week's closet cleanout episode, this one felt like the perfect follow-up — because once you've edited your wardrobe down, the next question is how to actually take care of what's left.

Have you ever wondered where all the red carpet gowns go when the night is over? Meet Julie Ann Clauss, the founder and head archivist of The Wardrobe, a fashion archive based in Los Angeles and home to the wardrobes of Chloe Sevigny and some of our favorites celebs. After getting her masters at FIT in Fashion History, Julie Ann was poached by Tom Ford to create his archive, and then went on to create the archives of Jason Wu, Carolina Herrera, Proenza Schouler, Ralph Lauren, and many more. In today's episode, Julie Ann walks us through the art of archiving, her best preservation tips, and what she thinks will be most collectable from 2025.

We're off for our August hiatus, but we couldn't go quiet without re-sharing one of our favorite conversations from the past year. If you've been reaching for the same sunscreen and calling it a day, this episode will change how you think about sun protection — and your summer wardrobe.

I’m joined by one of my oldest friends, Emma Gerber, who just so happens to be building one of the most exciting brands in the suncare space. Claudent is designing stylish, elevated UPF 50+ clothing that not only protects your skin but makes you want to wear sun-safe looks every day. We talk about the science behind UPF fabric, why most “sun-protective” clothes wash out after a few cycles, and how her brand is redefining fashion-meets-function.

If you have ever stood in a closet full of clothes and thought "I have nothing to wear," this episode is for you. It's our last solo episode before we head off for summer break, and I'm unpacking what I'm calling my biggest style growth spurt in years. It didn't come from one purchase or one outfit, it came from a full mental shift in how I think about getting dressed every day, treating my personal style with the same care I give my physical and mental wellness. I get into the wardrobe reset that came out of it, the "wardrobe rage" phenomenon Maggie Sellers coined on her podcast Hot Smart Rich (Did you know on average women lose 119 days of their careers just getting dressed?!), and the quarterly system I now swear by to keep my closet and my mornings actually working for me. Plus, a full Q&A covering monthly clothing budgets, what to do with a former "it" item you've fallen out of love with, and what to wear to the beach if shorts just aren't your thing.

Consider this your cheat code to stop losing 10 minutes every morning to a pile of clothes on the floor.

In this episode, we get into:

  • My biggest style growth spurt to date
  • Why I, a self-described serial over-dresser, couldn't put together a casual outfit
  • My quarterly closet ritual
  • Why a spotless closet is "personal style hygiene"
  • The "wardrobe rage" phenomenon
  • Law Roach's advice on giving yourself permission to miss
  • How I talk myself through a bad outfit day instead of spiraling
  • My case for repeating outfits
  • Building five to ten go-to looks for the office
  • Why outfit repeating should be celebrated, not hidden
  • Clearing out half my closet last summer with stylist Thomas Christos Kikis
  • What I keep versus sell
  • How I decide on a monthly clothing budget
  • What to do with a former "it" item you've outgrown
  • My go-to beach styling that isn't shorts

If you think you have to move to New York or LA to make it in fashion, this episode says otherwise.

Jack Savoie joins us from Denver to talk about building a fashion career — and a viral following — without uprooting your life. We get into how a fake Manolo Blahnik callout on TikTok caught Bethenny Frankel's attention and took him from 20K to 67K followers overnight, why he still works full-time as a buyer at A.Line while creating content on the side, and how he broke the news that Sabrina Carpenter was wearing Dior at Coachella before Vogue's own exclusive dropped. We also talk about his path from Nordstrom shoe sales to designer buying, the "Shoes of the Past" series that turned fashion nostalgia into a cultural moment, and his advice for anyone trying to break into the industry without an internship or a big city zip code.

In this episode, we get into:

  • How Jack built a career in fashion while staying based in Denver, and why he doesn't think you need to live in New York or LA to make it in the industry
  • The story behind his viral Manolo Blahnik video — how he spotted a fake shoe in a Bethenny Frankel TikTok and grew from 20K to 67K followers in under 24 hours
  • His path from selling shoes at Nordstrom to becoming a buyer at boutique retailer A.Line
  • How "Shoes of the Past," his series on discontinued cult shoes like the YSL Eiffel Tower cage boot and the Isabel Marant Beckett wedge, became his biggest content wave
  • What it's actually like balancing a full-time buying job with a content career, and how he manages burnout
  • How he broke the news that Sabrina Carpenter wore Dior at Coachella before Vogue's own exclusive was published
  • His biggest recent splurge — a surprise Birkin 30 in Rouge H from his longtime Hermès sales associate — and why he waits months before wearing new purchases
  • The brands and designers he thinks are doing the best work right now, including Chanel, Dior, and Kallmeyer
  • His current red carpet favorites, from Teyana Taylor and Margot Robbie to Sombr's fashion-forward run this year
  • His advice for anyone trying to break into fashion without a traditional industry job or big-city move

Okay, I have to say it: retail is broken, and I don't think I'm the only one who feels that way.

I've had such a big bone to pick with retail lately, and every time I bring it up — here on the podcast, on my socials — you guys have so much to say too. So today I'm finally getting into it: the post-COVID luxury gatekeeping that's got us all waiting in line for something that's supposed to feel special, the final sale chaos that's basically taken over everything, and the whole Brandy Melville dressing room saga that broke the internet a few weeks ago. After I posted a rant about all of this on Instagram, I woke up to literally hundreds of DMs from you guys with your own horror stories and dream stories, and there was such a clear through line in what everyone said that I knew I had to bring it here properly. But I didn't want to just complain for 30 minutes, so the back half of this episode is my full LA shopping guide — every vintage store, denim spot, concept store, and standalone brand that's actually doing it right, plus exactly how I'd plan a full day of shopping in West Hollywood, Venice, or Malibu.

In this episode, we get into:

  • Why Liv thinks retail peaked too soon, from luxury's post-COVID gatekeeping (appointments, lines) to the final-sale "epidemic" hitting resale sites like The RealReal
  • The Brandy Melville dressing room controversy, and what it says about the shopping experience for an entire generation
  • The flood of DMs Liv got after her retail rant went viral, and the surprising through-line in what listeners said they miss most about shopping
  • Liv's case for why LA is having a real shopping renaissance, and why she calls it the denim capital of the world
  • Her definitive vintage guide, including Scout, RLT, Reformation Vintage, and The RealReal
  • Where to find the best vintage denim in LA, from With Love, Lenny to The Dig in Venice
  • Her favorite multi-brand and concept stores, including Mohawk General Store and the newly opened Earl IRL (owned by former editor Laurel Pantin)
  • Standout standalone brand stores, from a surprise favorite at Rachel Comey to an appointment-only visit to Jacques Marie Mage
  • How to plan a full day of shopping in West Hollywood, Abbot Kinney, or Malibu Country Mart, including where to eat
  • Liv's advice for finding a genuine, personal shopping experience wherever you live

How To Master the "In-Between" Outfits

55 min
View

If your everyday outfits feel like an afterthought, this episode is going to change that.

Gabs Gofis (aka Gift of Gabs on Substack) joins us to talk about the category most of us ignore: the in-between outfit. We get into how she built a signature, easy LA style after years of feeling confused by trends, why she's stopped sizing for her true size and started sizing for fit, and the exact brands she reaches for on repeat — Donni, Still Here New York, RLT, and more. We also talk eyewear as the most underrated investment in your closet, how she finds one-of-a-kind vintage on Etsy and The RealReal (and the AI hack she swears by for sizing), and why her "Gaps in the Closet" practice changed the way she shops for good.

Plus, we get into slob chic, the difference between LA dressing and New York dressing, the bag she actually wears every day versus the one she dreams of, and her advice for anyone who feels like they're either too dressed up or not dressed up at all.

Shop all items mentioned in the episode: https://shopmy.us/collections/5987092

In this episode, we get into:

  • Why Gabs believes the "in-between" outfit — not your dressed-up looks — is actually the most important category in your closet
  • How moving from the East Coast to LA completely shifted her personal style, and why LA dressing is rooted in ease over polish
  • Her go-to in-between brands on repeat
  • Why she invests in eyewear over almost anything else right now — including her vintage Chanel pair from The RealReal and her Phoebe Philo "Cookie" sunglasses
  • Her best vintage shopping hacks + how she searches Etsy by fabric and the AI trick she uses to check sizing before buying
  • Her "Gaps in the Closet" method
  • How she dresses up a sweatpant moment without trying too hard
  • The bag she actually wears every day versus the investment piece she's not ready to carry daily yet
  • Her go-to shoe rotation for elevating a casual outfit
  • Her favorite LA shopping spots for vintage and resale
  • How she would style a wedding guest dress under $500

Content creator and marathon runner Brett Chody joins us for what we're calling the sporty girl's guide to getting dressed — a practical conversation about building a wardrobe around an active life without sacrificing style.

We get into all of it: how being an athlete shapes the way you see your body and get dressed, the bags she's investing in (and why she gravitates toward color over classics), her honest take on wearables and why she finally took off her Oura Ring, and the exact brands and pieces she reaches for every single day.

We also talk about Bites Run Club — how a spontaneous Instagram story turned into 150 girls showing up to run Central Park, and why in-person community might be one of the most underrated things you can build right now. Plus the runner uglies, men's deodorant as a life hack, designing her own Nike shoe, and the wardrobe advice she gives every woman who moves a lot and actually wants to get dressed.

Shop all items mentioned in the episode: https://shopmy.us/shop/collections/5831698

In this episode, we get into:

  • How being a marathon runner has completely shaped the way Brett gets dressed — and why athletes often have the most instinctive sense of personal style
  • The sporty girl uniform that actually works: the exact jeans, tops, and shoes Brett reaches for when she wants to look put together without trying too hard
  • Why she sizes up in almost everything she buys — and why she tells her followers to stop looking at the tag
  • The bag conversation: why she invests in color over classics, the pistachio suede Chanel she ran a race for, and what her Bottega, Prada Cleo, and Andiamo all say about her style
  • Her honest Oura Ring confession — why she wore it every day for a year, what finally made her take it off, and whether she'd ever go back
  • The Apple Watch debate: why she thinks it's "tears" as a fashion accessory and what she actually wears on her wrist instead
  • Her go-to workout gear broken down by activity — what she runs in versus what she wears to Pilates, and why those are two very different wardrobes
  • Designing her own Nike Vomero+ colorway and why it felt like a full-circle moment from her Nike ID days in high school
  • How Bites Run Club started with one Instagram story and 150 girls showing up to Central Park — and why she thinks in-person community is what people are craving most right now
  • The post-grad loneliness no one talks about — and how finding a hobby with a built-in community can change everything
  • The deodorant hot take that stopped us in our tracks (hint: it's from the men's aisle)
  • Her dessert bowl wardrobe breakdown: the piece she's had since high school that's still in heavy rotation, the brand she keeps buying in multiples, and what recently got retired

  • The undergarment brands I'm is loving right now, why she's moving away from Skims Fits Everybody, and the cotton brands worth knowing about

Are Handbags Actually a Good Investment?

39 min
View

Handbags have always been emotional purchases. Somewhere along the way, they became financial ones too, and if you've ever tried to justify a Birkin to someone who doesn't get it, Rachel Koffsky is the woman who makes that argument for you.

Rachel is the Head of Handbags at Christie's, one of the world's most prestigious auction houses, and has spent 12 years at the intersection of fashion, collecting, and the resale market. She joins me to break down what it actually means to treat a handbag like an asset, and which bags are worth your money right now.

We get into the history of handbags at auction, what the market is telling us about where we are culturally, and why classic pieces continue to outperform almost everything else. Whether you're sitting on a collection or thinking about your first serious purchase, this episode will change how you think about what's hanging in your closet.

Shop all items mentioned in the episode: https://shopmy.us/collections/5624992

In this episode, we get into:

  • How Christie's first offered a handbag for sale in 1978 — with pieces from Coco Chanel's personal collection
  • The era of the It Bag and why the late 90s and early 2000s changed collecting forever
  • Why Birkins and Kellys set record prices during the 2008 recession — and what that proved about handbags as investments
  • How the pandemic accelerated the shift to digital and created an entirely new generation of handbag collectors
  • Christie's 96% sell-through rate in handbags and what it signals about the current market
  • The five factors Christie's uses to evaluate and price every bag: brand, material, model, condition, and rarity
  • Which bags are actually appreciating right now — and which are too trend-dependent to hold value
  • Why the Kelly Pochette is having its moment and what's driving demand for smaller, evening-ready styles
  • The world record Christie's set for a Kelly Doll bag — and why it sold for $350,000
  • How to research a bag purchase the way a collector would
  • The difference between buying at Christie's versus a resale platform — and when each makes sense
  • Why Karl-era Chanel is having a major moment at auction right now
  • The sticker debate: does leaving them on actually increase value?
  • Why Rachel believes handbags should be worn, loved, and used — not kept in a box

Sneakers used to be one of two things: performance or fashion. Somewhere in the last decade, that line collapsed — and the shoes most of us are reaching for now sit firmly in the middle.

I'm joined by Adam and Ryan Goldston, founders of APL and the first members of an athletic company ever inducted into the CFDA, for a conversation on how they ushered in the era of the fashion sneaker. From getting banned by the NBA for their first shoe to landing in Selfridges, Net-a-Porter, and Saks before anyone else was selling performance product in those rooms, Adam and Ryan share how a clear point of view — and a refusal to use logos — built one of the most distinctive sneaker brands in the world.

We get into world-building beyond product, why they believe taste is their real superpower and the consumer shift toward quieter, design-led pieces.

In this episode, we get into:

  • What actually set the stage for the era of the fashion sneaker
  • Why being inducted into the CFDA in 2016 was a turning point for the entire sneaker industry
  • The decision to launch in Selfridges, Net-a-Porter, and Saks before anyone else was selling performance in luxury rooms
  • Why APL refuses to use big, emblazoned logos — and how that built a stronger brand
  • The rise of the personal brand and why consumers don't want to be walking advertisements anymore
  • What "simple, yet severe" actually means as a design philosophy
  • Inside the APL flagship at The Grove and why it feels more like a gallery than a store
  • Why building a brand world still requires a physical experience in an increasingly digital age
  • Ralph Lauren as the singular blueprint for world-building — and the moment they found out Ralph himself is an APL fan
  • Why Adam and Ryan consider taste their real superpower (and how to cultivate it)
  • The relationship between taste, bravery, and confidence
  • The Tokyo trip and the souffle pancakes that inspired the ZipLine midsole
  • Why texture — both tactile and visual — is the most important element of a perfect sneaker
  • The rise of the luxury basic and why consumers are investing in staples right now
  • How the F1 partnership in 2016 shaped APL's global luxury performance positioning

  • The Tokyo trip and the souffle pancakes that inspired the ZipLine midsole
  • Why texture — both tactile and visual — is the most important element of a perfect sneaker
  • The rise of the luxury basic and why consumers are investing in staples right now

Denim should be the easiest thing in our closet — we wear it almost every single day — but somehow it's the category that humbles us the most. We've all had that experience of walking into a department store, trying on ten pairs of jeans, and leaving with none.

I'm joined by Lindsay Davidson Paley, founder of Lenny, the LA vintage denim store that has become a destination for anyone looking for their perfect pair. After spending an afternoon in her store and walking out with jeans I actually love, I wanted to sit down with her to demystify everything about denim — from why fit feels impossible right now, to what to actually look for when you're vintage shopping, to the conversation you should be having with your tailor.

In this episode, we get into:

  • Why finding jeans that fit feels harder than ever (and the fit model problem nobody talks about)
  • Vanity sizing and why you're a 24 in one brand and a 26 in another
  • The single most important thing to know before you shop for jeans (hint: your measurements)
  • Why Lindsay's a firm believer in dressing for your body — and the one rule jeans don't get to break
  • The Levi's 501 lore: why everyone wants them, why they don't work on everyone, and how to actually wear them
  • The viral "size up three in the new 501s" hack — and whether it actually works
  • The three non-negotiables Lindsay looks for when sourcing vintage denim (original hem, wash, distressing)
  • Why the original hem is sacred and what to tell your tailor so you never lose it
  • The case against skinny jeans (and why America is the only country that agrees)
  • Why a dark wash is the most universally flattering and elevating
  • The crotch test — Lindsay's #1 tell for whether a pair of jeans is actually right for you
  • How to know when a pair is workable for tailoring vs. when to put them back
  • Whether $700 jeans are worth it and what you're actually paying for
  • The best modern denim brands worth investing in (Agolde, Citizens, The Row's Yale Alaw, Khaite, Reformation)
  • The best pregnancy jean (and the Levi's Low Loose nobody can stop wearing)
  • Why denim is officially a neutral — and what it says about fashion that Chanel, Celine, and Gucci are all sending jeans down the runway
  • Plus, on Let's Get You Dressed: what to actually wear to a spring baby shower when you're not a floral dress girl

Summer dressing should be the easiest season, fewer layers, less to think about, but somehow it's the one that trips us up the most. I get more questions about summer style than any other time of year so consider this your Summer style toolkit.

I'm answering the questions you've been sending in nonstop: the perfect sandal, how to elevate jean shorts, what to wear when it's a million degrees outside but freezing in your office, and the colors and shoes defining this summer.

Shop everything mentioned in this episode: https://shopmy.us/shop/collections/5256053

Download the Depop app and list your first item in just a few taps. It’s so easy, and a great way to make money easily with no selling fees. Thank you Depop for making this branded segment possible. Happy shopping!

In this episode, we get into:

  • My five tried-and-true vacation staples (and why I don't include a summer dress)
  • The hunt for the perfect sandal — and why I'm so picky about thong straps and micro heels
  • My controversial take on open-toed shoes in New York City
  • The linen pant debate: how to deal with wrinkles and which pairs are actually worth it
  • Why I get my beach bags from Amazon (and the one ALC bag worth investing in)
  • The summer accessories that completely shift my style for the season
  • My go-to summer brands across every price point — Doen, Massimo Dutti, St. Agnes, Staud, and more
  • The shoe of the summer (spoiler: there isn't one this year, but here's what I'm gravitating toward)
  • My honest take on jelly flats and fisherman sandals
  • Why I'm loving embellished sandals and a red kitten heel right now
  • Are we still wearing jean shorts? My full answer — plus the alternatives I reach for instead
  • How to wear longer shorts and Bermudas when you're not super tall
  • Why I'm buying most of my denim secondhand on Depop right now
  • The perfect office cardigan for surviving freezing summer A/C
  • The color of the summer — and the one shade that officially signals warm weather for me

How Ralph Lauren Shaped American Style

35 min
View

Ralph Lauren isn't just a brand — it's one of the only American fashion houses that has shaped culture for nearly 60 years. And right now, it's having one of its biggest cultural moments yet, resonating across every generation.

Today we’re joined by longtime WWD fashion editor and friend of the house, Bridget Foley, who’s had a front row seat to the brand’s evolution. She’s also the author of Lauren’s latest book, Ralph Lauren Catwalk, which covers over 100 runway shows and the brand’s most iconic moments.

In this episode, we get into:

  • What actually defines a brand with longevity (and why so few designers achieve it)
  • Ralph's "meet cute" moment with fashion and why he calls himself a storyteller, not a designer
  • The authenticity that makes Ralph different from every other luxury house
  • Why Ralph was doing "lifestyle" decades before the term existed
  • The hand-me-downs, vintage uniforms, and Bronx childhood that shaped his entire aesthetic
  • Ralph's belief in longevity and preservation, sustainability before it had a name
  • Inside the Ralph Lauren archive (and why Bridget calls it a "fashion lover's wonderland")
  • Why Gen Z fell in love with Ralph Lauren and what their parents' closets have to do with it
  • The codes that have permeated time: the tuxedo jacket over jeans, the polo shirt, the patchwork
  • Ralph Lauren's optimism and what it's actually rooted in
  • What Ralph has done to stay relevant with the next generation

If there’s one thing that’s transformed my personal style the most, it’s this: editing my closet. I’m a firm believer that a tidy closet = a clear mind, and every spring, I treat it like a full reset.

After doing one of the biggest clean-outs of my life (we’re talking half my closet gone), I realized that great style isn’t about having more, it’s about having the right pieces, and knowing how to let go of the rest.

In this solo episode, I’m walking you through my exact, step-by-step guide to a spring closet reset—how to approach it with intention, make it actually enjoyable, and come out the other side with a wardrobe that finally feels like you.

We get into:

  • How to define your personal style right now
  • The exact system I use to edit my closet (keep, tailor, rehome)
  • My “hero rack” trick that changes how you get dressed every day
  • What to do with pieces you feel emotionally attached to
  • How to actually sell your clothes (and make money back)
  • Why you shouldn’t rush to buy anything new after a clean-out

Thank you to Depop for making this episode possible. Happy selling, happy shopping, and happy spring cleaning

The Met Gala is the Super Bowl of red carpets, the most photographed, dissected, and mythologized night in fashion. But most of what we think we know about it isn't quite right.

I'm joined by Amy Odell, journalist and author of Anna: The Biography, for a conversation that pulls back the curtain on what really happens behind fashion's biggest night. From how Anna Wintour actually approves looks, to who makes it onto the invite list, to why tech money is suddenly funding the whole thing, Amy decodes it all.

In this episode, we get into:

  • The biggest misconceptions about the Met Gala (and what really happens behind the scenes)
  • How Anna Wintour actually approves looks — and what she doesn't see
  • Who gets invited, who gets crossed off the list, and how the seating really works
  • Why Met Gala tickets jumped to $100K this year and what tables actually cost
  • The Bezos era: how tech money is reshaping fashion's biggest night
  • Why brands like LVMH and Kering aren't buying tables the way they used to
  • The Devil Wears Prada Vogue cover and what it tells us about Vogue's future
  • The real story of how Lauren Weisberger went from Anna's assistant to writing the book
  • Why the Costume Institute has to raise its own funds (and Anna's role in changing that)
  • Met Gala vs. Oscars: how fashion superseded Hollywood on the red carpet
  • Behind-the-scenes rules: the no-phones policy, green rooms, and rider requests
  • The Zendaya x Anna Sui matching look moment and how it slipped through
  • What to expect from "Costume Art" and the "Fashion Is Art" dress code
  • How to actually watch the Met: Amy's go-to live stream and second-screen setup

Some of the most-asked questions I get are about the stuff we wear every single day, the work pants, the basics, the summer sandals, the first-date outfit. And honestly, these are the hardest things to get right, because they're the pieces that have to actually work in your real life.

I'm answering all of your questions, from the affordable work pants I've worn literally to Paris and back, to the sleepover outfit that isn't lingerie, to why I'm personally not betting on 90s minimalism being the trend of the year.

We also get into the reality of summer sandal shopping when you actually have to walk, the affordable basics that rival luxury, how to experiment with trends without blowing your budget, and my best advice for anyone trying to break into fashion right now.

In this episode, we get into:

  • The $148 work pants I've worn from Paris Fashion Week to an LA birthday in the same day
  • Where to actually find great tops that aren't tees or button-downs
  • What to wear to a new fling's place that isn't lingerie but still feels good
  • Why I don't believe in sneakers with sundresses — and what to wear instead
  • The most comfortable summer sandals (and the ones that will ruin your vacation)
  • The affordable basics that rival luxury (Uniqlo, Old Navy, Quince, COS)
  • The $25 jeans that have been $25 since the 90s — and are actually good
  • How to experiment with trends on Depop without overspending
  • Why I think fashion is fun again and 90s minimalism isn't the trend of the year
  • The first-date outfit formula that always works
  • My honest advice for breaking into fashion (especially after a layoff)

Getting dressed isn’t just about clothes, it’s emotional, it’s personal, and it’s one of the most powerful tools we have to step into who we want to be. So how do we actually use it?

I’m joined by Erin Walsh, the stylist behind some of the most iconic women in Hollywood, Anne Hathaway, Selena Gomez, Mindy Kaling, and the mind behind Anne’s unforgettable Devil Wears Prada 2 press tour.

Fresh off last night’s New York premiere, Erin walks us through what it actually takes to build a press tour of this scale, the Easter eggs, the Valentino Rockstud comeback, the meta moments, and why every look comes back to one question: how do you want to feel?

We also get into Erin’s CREATE method from her upcoming book The Art of Intention, and how the same tools she uses on red carpets can transform how any of us get dressed every single day.

In this episode, we get into:

  • What “intentional dressing” really means and how to actually do it
  • The 3-word rule Erin uses with every client
  • How to find your style “superpower” and lean into it
  • Why clothes are emotional, and what to do when your closet feels like a stranger
  • How to get out of a style rut
  • Inside the Devil Wears Prada 2 press tour: the references, the collaborations, the chaos
  • The Valentino Rockstud comeback and why it actually works
  • How Erin handles real-time criticism on the biggest carpets in the world
  • Why fashion is moving back toward joy, from Matthieu at Chanel to Selena at the Golden Globes
  • The “supernova” mindset Michael Kors gave her 20 years ago
  • What’s actually in a stylist’s toolkit and the brands she swears by
  • Her go-to jeans, white tee, and blazer, and where to shop each one
  • The fastest way to elevate any outfit instantly

Zac Posen has always understood that fashion is about more than just clothes—it’s about creating moments.

This week on Let’s Get Dressed, I sit down with Zac to talk about what it means to reinvent American fashion today. Now as Creative Director of Gap Inc., overseeing Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, and Athleta, Zac shares how he’s bringing his signature sense of “fashiontainment” to a global scale.

From viral cultural moments to designer collaborations like Old Navy x Christopher John Rogers, we discuss how fashion is shifting—from exclusivity to accessibility—and what it takes to build a brand that resonates in today’s world.

Plus, Zac shares his go-to styling tips, from the one piece that instantly elevates your jeans to why every woman needs her own version of the perfect little black dress. We also get into the future of fashion, the role of AI, and why instinct and taste still matter more than ever.

In this episode, we get into:

  • What reinvention actually looks like in fashion (personally and professionally)
  • The shift from couture to designing at scale—and what changes creatively
  • Why fashion is moving into entertainment and pop culture
  • How collaborations (like Old Navy x Anna Sui + CJR) actually come together
  • The “cultural receiver” mindset and how to spot what’s next
  • Why some fashion moments go viral—and others don’t
  • What it takes to execute big ideas inside a corporate structure
  • The role of failure, resilience, and timing in building a career
  • How AI is already shaping fashion—and where it still falls short
  • Why direct-to-consumer and social media changed everything
  • The difference between product that looks good vs. product that actually sells
  • Zac’s philosophy on creativity, risk-taking, and staying relevant
  • Easy styling advice: how to elevate jeans, wardrobe staples, and everyday dressing

We’re in an era of endless options, constant drops, and algorithm-driven trends…but what are people actually buying?

I sit down with retail expert and Puck writer Sarah Shapiro to do a real-time “channel check” on the fashion industry. From what’s selling in stores right now to the pieces quietly dominating across data, and the brands actually getting it right, we break down what’s working, what’s not, how to actually make sense of it all, and where you should be shopping.

In this conversation, we get into:

  • What a “channel check” is and why it reveals what people are really buying
  • The shift away from leggings and what’s replacing them
  • The rise of the “easy pant” and why it’s everywhere right now
  • The stores and brands that are actually getting it right
  • Why curated retail experiences matter more than ever
  • What’s not working in retail right now (and why overproduction is a problem)
  • The brands quietly winning vs. the ones struggling to keep up
  • What the data actually says people are buying (and the pieces that keep selling out)
  • The “airplane outfit” effect and why it’s one of the most powerful drivers in fashion
  • The price point people are really shopping right now
  • Why resale is changing how we think about buying clothes
  • How AI is starting to shape the future of shopping (and where it still falls short)
  • Why personal style still matters more than trends or algorithms
  • How to filter the noise and figure out what actually works for you

Spring is officially here, which means it’s time for a wardrobe reset. I’m breaking down the 10 pieces you actually need for spring whether you’re shopping your closet or investing in a few key pieces.

I’ve always found spring to be the hardest season to get dressed for. It’s that in-between moment where your winter pieces feel too heavy, but it’s not quite summer either, so figuring out what actually works can be hard. From the perfect work pant to the return of the barn jacket, pencil skirts, and cropped denim, these are the staples, trends, and styling shifts that will make getting dressed this season so much easier. We’re also talking about how to transition your wardrobe from winter to spring, why fabric matters more than you think, and how to bring more personality into your everyday outfits.

This episode is your guide to refreshing your closet without overconsuming, focusing on pieces you’ll actually wear and style on repeat.

Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy is everywhere again but the conversation around her style often misses what actually made it so compelling in the first place.

I sit down with writer and repeat guest Larissa Mills to talk about the frenzy surrounding CBK right now, from the new Love Story series on FX and Hulu to the endless stream of content promising you can dress like her if you just buy the right boots, coat, or sunglasses. • Why her style felt powerful because of her aura, confidence, and restraint
  • How social media and overconsumption have changed the way we approach personal style
  • The difference between being inspired by someone’s wardrobe and replicating it
  • Why repetition, discernment, and editing are the real keys to great personal style
  • How to take inspiration from Carolyn’s wardrobe without losing your own point of view

At 22-years-old, Madison Dowd bought Ludivine, a long-standing Upper East Side boutique, through BizBuySell.com. Instead of starting a brand from scratch, she stepped into an existing business with loyal customers, real inventory, a balance sheet, and an unwavering belief in the future of retail.

This conversation gets into what it actually looks like to run a multi-brand fashion boutique today — from buying decisions and trade shows to navigating instinct versus data. We also talk about learning a customer and buying patterns, what makes the Upper East Side the most valuable retail landscape, and the brands flying off her shelves.

This week on Let’s Get Dressed, I’m sitting down with Joseph Altuzarra just days after his latest New York Fashion Week show. We talk about what 20 years in fashion really looks like when you’re running an independent brand, why people keep saying “NYFW is dead,” and what it actually costs to put on a show today.

Joseph shares how he thinks about staying relevant without chasing hype, the reality of pay-to-play celebrity culture, and why he’s calling this his “year of yes.” We also get personal — from fame and comparison to what it feels like to be 42 and still building. Plus: Heated Rivalry, Wuthering Heights, whether fashion is psychic, and his best advice for anyone who wants to work in the industry.

Hi from NYC! This week, we’re debriefing NYFW — everything that happened on and off the runways that stopped us in our tracks.

From Ralph Lauren’s romantic revival to the iconic wardrobe on the Wuthering Heights press tour, we unpack why fashion feels like it’s entering a new era of dressing for joy. We also dive into the power shift at Vogue, British Vogue's moving March cover, and what it signals about the future of media.

Joining me is my friend Lydia Berry, co-founder of the social media agency Darlington, and our resident Gen Z eyes and ears on what’s actually driving conversation online right now. Follow Lydia on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/lydberry/

How the NFL Became Fashion’s New Runway

42 min
View

If there’s any sports bet we’re taking right now, it’s that the football field is becoming fashion’s favorite runway. On this episode of Let’s Get Dressed, I’m joined by Daniel-Yaw Miller, sports and fashion journalist, and author of the SportsVerse Substack, for a post-Super Bowl debrief on how fashion showed up all weekend long. From Bad Bunny’s halftime performance in custom Zara and Adidas, to designer activations, athlete styling, and brands finding ways in without buying a single commercial, we talk through why sports have suddenly become such a valuable cultural space for fashion.

We also get into why sports feel like a kind of reset for brands — a place to reach massive audiences, soften narratives, and feel culturally relevant without over-explaining themselves. What worked, what didn’t, and why so many fashion brands seem more interested in game day than runway season.

Ever wonder how celebrities are always wearing the newest, coolest brands — sometimes before you’ve even heard of them?

In this episode of Let’s Get Dressed, I sit down with fashion PR and showroom powerhouse Shayna Honeyman, the founder of The Honeyman Agency, whose work has helped place brands on everyone from Hailey Bieber to Taylor Swift and Jane Fonda. Shayna represents some of the buzziest names in fashion right now — including Nour Hammour, Toteme, JUDE, Magda Butrym, Christopher Esber, and more — and has been at the center of how fashion visibility actually works today.

We chat about how fashion’s gatekeepers have changed, why traditional institutions like Barneys and Fred Segal faded, and how modern showrooms became the new filters of taste, access, and celebrity placement. She also shares the brand she has her eyes on, why she says no to some brands, and why authenticity always wins.

In this episode of Let’s Get Dressed, I’m joined by stylist Karla Welch, one of Hollywood’s most beloved celebrity stylists, whose clients have included Justin Bieber, Olivia Wilde, Sarah Paulson, and Tracee Ellis Ross.

We talk through what really goes into an award season press tour, from Cannes to the Oscars, how red carpet moments come together, and how Karla approaches custom looks, designer relationships, and individuality over trends. We also touch on the realities of award season, career-defining fashion moments, and the work Karla is doing beyond fashion with the Period Company.

Atiya Walcott is one of my fashion heroes, so her signature phrase, "I'm Atiya Walcott and I'm incredibly fashionable," couldn’t be more fitting. Based in Chicago, the fashion creator has built a following around her wearable yet eye-catching style, shot and shared in a format that will stop you mid-scroll and make you hit save within seconds. Her styling videos are cinematic, filmed in her stunning home with 20-foot ceilings, with each shot crafted with the precision and creativity of a seasoned film director. In this episode, Atiya and I dive into blending her love of theater, movement, and fashion, the journey of finding your niche, and her style inspirations that range from her mom’s closet to Pride and Prejudice.

Happy New Year everyone! This week, I’m joined by trend forecaster, analyst, and creator Mandy Lee (aka @OldLoserinBrooklyn), who famously predicted some of 2025’s biggest fashion moments before they hit the mainstream. Now, she’s back to break down what’s coming next.

We get into 2026’s biggest fashion themes, from the rise of functionality and wearable wellness to why fashion is swinging toward the surreal. Mandy shares how trends actually form, how culture and politics play a major role, and what designers and brands she’s watching most closely right now.

We all have that one friend who’s always styled to perfection, even in jeans and a tee. For us, that’s Hannah Chody. A fashion content creator, entrepreneur, and the Head of E-Commerce for her family’s business, Garrett Popcorn, Hannah joins us to talk about how to build a wardrobe that truly feels like you and how to style it to perfection.

We unpack what happens when you stop impulse shopping, start investing in pieces that fit your real life, and let confidence, not trends, lead the way. She also opens up about her years at Goldman Sachs, what dressing for corporate life taught her, and how she’s reimagined “workwear” to fit her more creative career today. Plus, she answers all your questions from Instagram!

What happens when your body, your life, or your routine changes, and suddenly nothing in your closet feels like you anymore? In this week’s episode, Liv sits down with stylist and author Allison Bornstein to talk about finding your style again through life’s shifts: pregnancy, postpartum, new jobs, breakups, or just new eras.

They chat about making peace with your closet, letting go of the clothes that “ask too much” of you, and learning how to dress for the person you are right now vs the person your clothes could hold you to be. Allison shares her signature Three-Word Method, tips for rebuilding confidence when your body changes, and why the goal isn’t a perfect wardrobe, but a kinder relationship with the one you already have.

What are all the It Girls wearing these days?! I went straight to the source and sat down with stylist Maren Taylor — the woman behind the effortlessly chic wardrobes of Paige DeSorbo, Olivia Culpo, Paige Lorenze, and more. After getting her start working for Dani Michelle (the stylist behind Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber), Maren has become the eyes (and closet) behind some of fashion’s best-dressed women. We talk about building your client list, the art of the cold email, and the process that goes into creating some of your most saved looks on Instagram. We also talk about her best styling tips: the Calzedonia tights she uses on every client, her go-to trick for the perfect blazer sleeve, and why tailoring is non-negotiable.

No one tells a story quite like Taylor Swift, and what she wears is one of her greatest tools. This week, we're joined by beauty and red carpet reporter, and co-host of the Gloss Angeles podcast, Kirbie Johnson, to decode how Taylor uses clothes, color, and makeup to build her eras, and how relatability has become her strongest fashion statement. We break down her most iconic style moments - from the red Vivienne Westwood mini to her genius approach to merch and marketing - and how she’s rewritten the rulebook for celebrity branding. Plus we chat orange beauty, Cartier watches, friendship bracelets, and what we'd love to see her wear on tour and at her wedding (!!).

Designer Daniella Kallmeyer has been building her namesake label Kallmeyer for over a decade, from less than $7,000 into one of New York’s most exciting labels with two thriving stores and a devoted following. Fresh off a buzzed-about NYFW show, a CFDA nomination for Womenswear Designer of the Year, and Zoe Kravitz in a custom pink dress, Daniella shares how she’s redefining luxury on her own terms - with a focus on cut, craft, and creating a wardrobe that women actually want to live in. We also chat about the grind behind so-called “overnight success,” the romance of retail, and how restraint might just be the secret to success.

Hi from New York! This week I’m joined by a dear friend, social media strategist, and co-founder of Darlington, Lydia Berry, for an episode live from New York Fashion Week. Together we unpack the most viral moments, the trends worth noting - big necklaces, monochrome, and thongs (?!) - and why the US Open might be the new biggest stage for brands. We also share how social strategy really works behind the scenes for creators, celebrities, and brands and what makes moments stick. It's a fun one!
