Discover how your facial features evolve over time and how apps like FaceApp can help visualize different facial proportions.

Ever felt the wrath of a skin reaction from a seemingly innocent beauty product or struggled to find skincare that doesn't irritate your sensitive skin? Our guest for this episode, Dr. Carina Woodruff, a board-certified dermatologist and allergy specialist, may just have the solution you're looking for. Dr. Woodruff, a co-founder of the skincare line Vetted, takes us through her journey from her personal experience with scoliosis to her passion for dermatology and allergy testing. We delve into the often overlooked topic of contact dermatitis, and the importance of patch testing before using products.

This episode is not merely about highlighting the challenges, but also about presenting solutions. Dr. Carina Woodruff, along with her colleagues Dr. Bottle and Dr. Fox, have taken the challenge head-on to provide high-performance skincare products for people with allergies. Their creation, Vetted, is a skincare brand that combines scientific research with beauty innovation, placing a strong emphasis on hypoallergenic, non-medicinal products that still deliver a high-quality beauty experience. We discuss the concept of "clean beauty" and how it's not just a marketing ploy but a science-backed approach to skincare.

Moreover, we also touch upon the significance of hair care and the potential adverse reactions from using powerful surfactants in combination with sensitizers in products. Dr. Woodruff shares her personal experience of switching shampoos, witnessing a noticeable difference in her acne, and how her new skincare brand, Better Derm Lab, aims to help those with sensitive skin, eczema, or other skin conditions. Join us for this enlightening and resourceful episode as we explore the intersection of dermatology, skincare, and the science of allergies.

From the fertile lands of Sicily, we bring you a captivating tale. What began as a promise to a grandmother, Agatha Luczo and her husband embarked on a journey that led to the birth of an 800 acre organic farm, La Furtuna Estate, and a transformative skincare brand, Furtuna Skin. Venture with us as we uncover the secrets of their regenerative farming process, the resilience of Mediterranean plants, and the luxurious blend of wild organic beet and chicory extracts that make their skincare products truly distinctive.

Ever wondered about the magic of extinct plants? Agatha revives this enchantment with the creation of a distinctive herbarium that includes the previously extinct Bianca Leela Chantanada cultivar. The Furtuna Skin products, reminiscent of a herbarium in a bottle, nourish your skin with a concoction of organic extra virgin olive oil, olive leaf water, and wild kusa zura - the rare blue flower bursting with antioxidants. As Agatha puts it, their products are akin to "Botox in a bottle", providing essential nourishment and protection against environmental and free radical damage. The episode also sheds light on the stark differences between US and EU beauty standards, a significant aspect of the clean beauty movement.

The conversation culminates with an exploration of the Furtuna Skin philosophy. More than a skincare brand, Furtuna Skin is a testament to the commitment of a couple who are dedicated to honoring their grandmother's legacy and giving back to the earth. Their product line is an embodiment of this ethos, with their Mediterranean-inspired day and night creams, miscellaneous water, and oil, working in harmony with the body's natural circadian rhythm. These products, crafted from plant-based ingredients resilient to harsh conditions, protect, nourish, and restore balance to the skin. So, come join us on this extraordinary journey into the heart of Sicily and discover the secrets behind the luxury skincare philosophy of Furtuna.

She illuminates the critical role of self-care in our overall wellbeing, encouraging us to make it a priority without the burden of guilt. With her enlightening anecdotes, Rachel underscores how a consistent daily practice, no matter how brief, can have a profound impact. We delve into dynamic meditation practices, like shaking meditation, and explore how breath plays a critical role in yoga and meditation.

Starting your own yoga journey might seem daunting, but Rachel breaks it down for us in the most approachable way. She emphasizes the essence of yoga lies in the foundational poses and breathwork, not the intricate poses that often intimidate beginners. Rachel also shares her insights on creating a sacred space for mindfulness at home and how to approach self-care with self-love, including how she adapted her yoga practice during her pregnancy. We promise you that this conversation with Rachel is an invaluable guide for both yoga enthusiasts and beginners. Get ready to be inspired and find your path towards mindfulness and self-care.

Join us for a special episode featuring the iconic brand that put pimple patches on the map, Peace Out Skincare. Junior Pence joins us today to share the story of what led to Peace Out’s iconic pimple patch and the vision behind the brand.

Founder Enrico Frezza tried more acne products, doctor prescriptions, and infomercial products than you can possibly imagine, and could not find an easy-to-use solution with fast-acting results. His frustration became the catalyst for developing a technology that treated the root cause of our pesky breakouts, not just the symptom.

The breakthrough “A-HA” moment came while Enrico was scouring the drugstore aisles for anything that could possibly clear one of his nasty breakouts. It was then that Enrico discovered hydrocolloid dressing - a biodegradable, flesh-coloured dressing normally used to heal wounds in the medical field. He bought every hydrocolloid bandage in the drugstore and began self-testing until he found a one-step, easy skincare solution to treat his acne.

Enrico was immediately met with resistance from all labs except one. With a lab secured, Enrico powered through the product development process of the first ever hydrocolloid acne dot to be infused with active ingredients. After years of tireless research and 14 prototypes later, Peace Out Acne was born and recruited into an exclusive partnership with Sephora U.S. in January 2017.
Peace Out Acne hit shelves 8-months later in July 2017 and immediately took Sephora by storm, while quickly becoming the leader in patch technologies. Enrico continued to create new skincare technologies that delivered easy to use, one-step solutions for skin concerns, with fast-acting results.

Join us for a deep dive into the necessity for pre procedure and post procedure skincare with double board certified Dermatologist , Dr Heather Rogers. We dive into the recent rebranding and new packaging upgrade and how Doctor Rogers Skincare is proving itself to be a strong contender in the clutter of the current skin health industry by relying on tried and true ingredients meant to heal rather than exacerbate the delicate balance of the skin’s natural physiology.

Dr. Rogers' first love is practicing medicine, but after decades of seeing widespread confusion about skin care she wanted to be a voice of reason in the beauty industry. She started challenging misleading claims and sharing her unbiased recommendations on YouTube, Instagram, and her blog. Unlike other influencers, she will not do sponsored ads. Her recommendations are based solely on her extensive research and clinical experience. Unusual in this frankness, she quickly became a trusted expert for beauty editors with regular features in national press.

A constant challenge was finding effectiveproducts to recommend to her patients and the press for sensitive and aging skin. The options were the old guard of hypoallergenic, but not sustainable products versus the new “clean” brands claiming sustainability, but using more fragrance and other common allergens that sensitive skin cannot tolerate. Driven to meet this need, Dr. Rogers created her namesake line of fewer, expertly formulated products that are simultaneously effective, safe and sustainable.

In this episode we sat down with the founder of SOTERI SKIN, Rafal Pielak to discuss the true problem at the root of eczema prone skin and how he decided to take matters into his own well trained hands when his wife was diagnosed with the skin condition.

With a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences and chemistry from Harvard Medical School, Rafal was uniquely qualified to find a solution. After much research, he found the culprit: unbalanced skin pH.

pH is critical for skin health but environmental factors such as hard water, cleansing, UV, pollution, and common skincare and cosmetic products often throw pH off balance. This isn’t too much of a problem when your skin is healthy—but it can be a nightmare for sensitive skin that’s prone to eczema, psoriasis, or other chronic skin conditions.

Rafal speaks on all topics related to skin pH and how big of a difference it can make for consumers with even normal skin to have products geared towards the root cause.

Join us for a perfect hair day as we sit down with Frederic Fekkai, founder of his iconic hair care range that has been creating and inspiring beautiful hair since its inception! FEKKAI originated at the salon in 1989, when there was the lack of high-quality hair care products at the time - in particular, color care. Women were leaving the salon with beautiful hair color and returning with faded, oxidized colored hair in a matter of weeks. That inspired him to create Technician Color, which has always remained a favorite. Professional luxury hair hair care didn’t exist - there was a gap in the prestige market, particularly in areas like color care, and saw an opportunity to offer solutions that were missing at the time. From the start it has always been about the skinification of hair care, the sensorality of the formulations and the experience using the product matched with unprecedented professional results. Frédéric embarked on a journey that fused innovation with expertise.

Frédéric’s style is inspired by the French way of life - it is about capturing the beauty of each individual person, however effortlessly chic, working with the natural hair they have. He dared to transcend boundaries and carve out his own niche.

The French influence does not end with just the Parisian style - Being from Aix-en-Provence, he was inspired to create a brand that uses simple natural ingredients we find in French heritage, like Olive Oil, Apple Cider Vinegar, and Shea Butter.

At the heart of the produt line lies a synergy between the most high-quality natural ingredients and groundbreaking formula innovation in clean science. Frédéric and the FEKKAI stylists test each formula on actual clients in the salons. The products extend beyond functionality; they encompass an entire sensory experience. From the delightful aroma to the luxurious textures and the captivating sensation during application, every aspect is meticulously designed to create a holistic experience that embodies our luxurious salon experience in every use.

As a brand deeply rooted in luxury and heritage, next year will be FEKKAI’s 35th anniversary. Frederic and the team are digging into the archives and bringing back the initial brand DNA and codes of the past. Taking back the luxury sensibility and positioning backed with professional salon expertise

Jerrod shares the insider scoop behind Diamon Drunk and Polite Society, his latest innovations in beauty.

Jerrod Blandino and Jeremy Johnson launched Toy Box Brands, new consumer product house on July 27, 2023

Following their departure from Too Faced Cosmetics and the sale to Estée Lauder Companies for a record breaking $1.45 billion, Brand Founders Jerrod & Jeremy will introduce a new group of groundbreaking prestige consumer brands as they continue to disrupt the industry.

Blandino and Johnson are known for creating many famous “world’s first” products during their 24 years at Too Faced Cosmetics,  like the first glitter eyeshadow, best-selling mascara in the famous “pink tube” and the most successful, award-winning, innovative lip plumper.

Fueled by Jerrod’s legendary creative vision and Jeremy’s strategic business genius, Toy Box Brands will create and lead world class brands for the modern world, bringing consumers ground-breaking products and experiences that inspire, elevate and deliver on their promises. In Jerrod’s words, “that’s how you change the world.”

Diamond Drunk, the first brand to be released under Toy Box Brands, is a revolutionary non-toxic, vegan and sustainable high jewelry cleaner designed to keep your diamond, gold and platinum pieces refreshed and sparkling with a nightly beauty ritual for your jewelry.

Diamond Drunk is created with responsibly-sourced 99.5% natural, plant-derived and vegan ingredients to provide the perfect solution to outdated, harsh, cleaning products. Every element of Diamond Drunk is so beautifully decorative that it doubles as a display on your vanity, with a chic, refillable vessel. Consumers can also select their “Diamond Detox'' scented concentrate from four carefully curated modern fragrances and matching vessel colorways.

"Our mission is to provide a luxurious, non-toxic alternative to traditional outdated, toxic jewelry cleaning solutions," says Blandino. "With Diamond Drunk, we want to make it safe, easy and chic to revive your jewelry’s sparkle every day while taking care of you, your treasures, and the planet.”
Diamond Drunk also offers cleaning accessories including: “Cashmere Cloud” loopless drying and polishing cloth, and the “Security Guard” drain cover.

In August, Blandino and Johnson unveiled Polite Society, a new beauty brand powered by world-class artistry quality, high-performance cosmetics created using clean-science innovation that break the rules of conventional cosmetics to redefine the meaning of clean beauty for the modern world. Polite Society launched exclusively at ULTA Beauty and http://PoliteSociety.com on August 27th.

In this episode we sat down with the founder of the revolutionary new brand that is targeting consumer needs with single use products that focus on efficacy and creating autonomy for various skin health needs.

Onélogy™ reinvents skincare products in tablet-to-gel format to deliver peak potency, minus the waste. Just add water before use, apply on the skin like any serum.

Meet Megadose™: a revolutionary, patent-pending, line of targeted serums that delivers a fresh daily dose of clinically-proven ingredients, suitable for all skin types. Unlike traditional liquid serums, each Megadose™ serum  comes as pre-dosed, waterless tablets meant to be rehydrated with water right before application. This new delivery system is highly shelf-stable (6+ years) and versatile — making it ideal for use at home or on-the-go.

MISSION STATEMENT Reinventing skin-health through innovative technologies and earth-oriented solutions.

FOUNDER’S BIO AND MISSION French-born founder, Roxana, developed contact dermatitis in 2019 from US versions of products she used to buy back in France. She spent a decade advertising beauty brands for a living, yet found  herself lost and confused. When visiting a dermatologist didn’t make sense financially, she eventually found-out both product versions had different formulas, among other things. Not only do pre mixed products not work (the average bottled skincare loses 50% of efficacy in just 60 days) — they are also killing the planet (120B+ Packaging waste is produced yearly). To solve this, she was  convinced she had to reinvent how skincare is created and experienced. In 2020, she created Onélogy with a simple mission: deliver the highest level of efficacy for all skin types — without compromise  on sustainability or price.

“B.S claims, fear-tactics and lack of fact-checking within the industry did not sit right with me — from a consumer and professional perspective. More than ever, I was convinced I needed less, more efficient  products that were kind to the Earth and true to their words. I founded Onélogy to write a more truthful story from beginning to end — starting by reinventing how products are created and experienced.  Through evidence-based and transparent practices, we create skincare that brings confidence to those who use it, with the conviction that skin health can be delivered without fear.”

FUN FACTS All products are made in France at a Pharmaceutical lab — not private or white label cosmetic manufacturer! This means we are EU complient and follow pharma grade protocols & raw materials, on top  of being vegan & cruelty-free. Oui Oui!

Join us for a deep dive into the molecular science of anti aging with the brilliant mind behind the innovative brand MDAiRE , Dr Stefani Kappel MD. This episode focuses on the uniquely intricate science of aging down to the major molecular pathways involved including those targeted by the MDAiRE range of products. Dr Kappel talks to us all about the details of ARE and how she utilized the details of understanding its mechanism of action while creating her incredibly efficacious brand.

ARE is an acronym for an important signal transduction pathway in the skin. It stands for the Antioxidant Response Element (ARE). The “i” in science represents “the induction of". Hence AIRE represents the activation of this powerful anti-aging pathway. Inducing this key anti-aging pathway results in the transcription and translation of protective genes that play a major role in the anti-aging process. Activation of the AIRE pathway protects skin cells from oxidative stress which remains one of the best etiologies to explain the mechanism of aging.

Dr. Kappel is a board certified, and double fellowship trained Dermatologist and Mohs Micrographic Surgeon with an active practice in Newport Beach California. She has over 15 years of experience in practicing Dermatology and studying the skin. She has a Medical Degree from UC Irvine and completed her residency in Dermatology at UCLA. Upon completing her residency, she joined the full-time faculty at UCLA as a Clinical Instructor and Professor in Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. She then went on to complete advanced fellowship training in Dermatologic Surgery at UC Davis and Cosmetic Dermatology at the Laser and Skin Surgery Center of Northern California with world-renowned expert, Dr. Suzanne Kilmer. After fellowship, she was appointed the Director of Dermatologic Surgery at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of Northern California where she has remained active in clinical trials and has been on the forefront of the latest advances in aesthetics and dermatology.

Join us for another very special fragrance Friday with the legend and Queen of perfumery, Veronique Gabai as she takes us on a journey of truly understanding the juncture of perfumery and its psychoactive potential, as she has been able to demonstrate with her revolutionary line AROMA and the three hallmark scents that make up the collection.

At the crossroads of perfumery and aromatherapy, Aroma is more than perfume, it is perfume therapy. Ethically sourced, the natural essential oils are chosen by the brand’s aromatherapy doctor for their therapeutic benefits. The blends are composed and finished by master perfumer for pleasure. The result: natural, biodegradable, safe, clean, sustainable perfumes with proven benefits.

Welcome to Aroma, the perfume’s new frontier and the merger of neuroscience and perfumery.

During this interview, Veronique dives into the studies that have been conducted to prove the efficacy of the scents in relation to the olfactory centers of the brain and the impact they have on the mind body connection via chakra alignment and activation, amongst other tie ins. AROMA is a testament to the new frontier and untapped potential of perfumery and a guiding light for what we believe to be the new standard of perfumery’s true potential.

Join us for an interview with the co-founder of OneSkin, Carolina Reis Oliviera, as we dive into the  science of the brand’s efficacious formulations and all the reasons they are leading the way to a universal system for healthier skin.

OneSkin is a breakthrough line of skin health products powered by longevity science to address the root causes of aging. While many skincare brands make claims about reversing aging, OneSkin is the first company that quantifies the age reversal effect of their products by measuring changes in the skin at the molecular level.  By researching the main driver of skin aging, OneSkin developed a new and proprietary peptide, OS-01, which powers OneSkin products. OS-01 is the first peptide proven to reverse aging by reducing the accumulation of aged senescent cells in human skin models. The result? Healthier, biologically younger, more resilient skin for better overall health and longevity.

Join us for a Sunday special featuring the wonderful brand, Hello Sundays as we dive into their amazing products that making using sun protection in our daily lives a no brainer! We know that UV damage  happens in everyday life, even on cloudy days, winter months & cooler continents. Sadly, the consumer knowledge isn´t there yet, but we are here to change that!

After spending many years in Australia where awareness of sun damage is high, our founder Amy Ford returned to the UK with a vision to change the way we wear and perceive SPF for the better. Believing SPF is a right, not a privilege, it was important for Amy to create a range that was affordable, would offer multi-faceted protection and provide expert skincare benefits in one, making it simple for everyone to slot SPF into their daily skincare line up.

Working alongside a small team of skincare enthusiasts & formulation experts, Hello Sunday was born and we´ve been bridging the gap between suncare and skincare ever since.

We know the best thing you can do for your skin (and to avoid premature aging) is to protect it from UV rays early on. For us, it’s all  about healthy ageing and promoting natural, healthy, protected, nourished skin, for everyone, no matter the weather.

Join us for Fragrance Friday featuring the cult favorite brand, Hermetica Paris. Hermetica was launched in 2018 thanks to the desire and conviction of Clara and John Molloy, willing to initiate a new way to experience and make perfumes. As close as possible to the skin, like an olfactive dance, combining the best of nature and science with a break through formula present in each composition. Fragrances able to perfume and hydrate at the same time, both long-lasting, clean and alcohol-free, like a true gesture of beauty aware of the environment.

Fragrance and skin are close friends. Wearing a perfume starts with a nice gesture addressed to your body. Like a personal dance, that makes you feel good thanks to the magic of scent. Even more with Hermetica and its unique alcohol-free formula, offering fragrances softer for the skin, body friendly, that give a feeling of purity, energy and freedom. Considering its special formula, Hermetica perfumes have this property to be more hydrating than others, and apply on the skin, they merge with it, follow its curves, dance with it.

Capsum is well known for creating products that utilize microfluidic technology such as some of our favorites by brands including Algenist , Chanel and so many more! You may recognize their products as those with the “micro beads” in them that are not only beautiful to look at but result in some of the most amazing products in beauty. A scientist by training (author of a physics thesis)—who is, above all, an entrepreneur passionate about innovation—Sébastien Bardon created Capsum in 2008 after graduating with an MBA from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Capsum is the result of meeting two, high-level researchers: David Weitz, from Harvard University, and Jérôme Bibette, from ESPCI ParisTech. The concept? Renewing cosmetics, thanks to microfluidics, by designing products that are visually and sensorially innovative that revolutionize beauty routines while protecting active ingredients ... Notably, Mary was the formulator behind Native’s cult-favorite aluminum-free deodorants and helped to scale the brand from 500 bars a week to 24,000 a day. And most recently, she partnered up with Vanessa Hudgens to help formulate her revamped Know Beautyproduct line which just launched.

As a contract manufacturer and skincare formulator with over a decade of experience, Mary can translate product labels, decode manufacturing processes, and answer controversial questions for consumers and beauty brand founders.

Join us for an amazing episode with the founders of MOTHER SCIENCE, a revolutionary new skincare brand that is utilizing the power of a naturally occurring, and endemic yeast of everyone’s natural skin flora, known as Malasezzia Furfur and its miraculous byproduct Malasezzin, to combat signs of hyperpigmentation, as well as combat free oxygen radicals often treated with ingredients much less efficacious such as vitamin C.

Mike Einziger, founding guitarist of the rock band Incubus, and renowned violinist Ann Marie Simpson-Einziger have always been enthralled with science. Mike studied it at Harvard, and Ann Marie majored in biology at UVA and later taught physics and chemistry. So when Ann Marie developed a harmless skin condition while on tour in 2016 that led to lightened patches of skin on her back, she got very curious. Could whatever caused them be used to intentionally reduce the look of dark spots on the face?

The couple assembled a team of leading scientists and over six years, uncovered the power of Malassezin, a naturally-occurring molecule found on skin. They were able to recreate Malassezin through biotechnology, and harness it to develop a revolutionary serum.

In this episode we explore the vision behind why MOTHER SCIENCE was created and the clinically significant results the brand has been able to achieve with their serum thus far!

Join us for a very special interview with the founder of LYMA, Lucy Goff as we discuss the brand’s newest launch featuring topical products to go with their impressive lineup that includes the first ever at home laser device and supplements !

 About LYMA:
LYMA is the creator and leader of WellTech™, a new industry fusing the worlds of wellness and tech. Founded in 2018, the British company launched with the LYMA Supplement, the first formula engineered with ten peer-reviewed, patented ingredients in dosages proven to work, setting a new standard within the nutraceutical market. In 2020, it revolutionised the beauty industry with the LYMA Laser, the first clinic-grade laser cleared for use at home, 100x more effective than LED. In 2021, LYMA was named one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Beauty Companies for its category-defining products.

About Lucy Goff, Founder:
In 2012, Lucy spent six weeks in hospital battling septicaemia. After months of consulting with several leading physicians, and trying to get back on her feet, a chance meeting with the world renowned pharmaconutritionist Dr Paul Clayton changed the course of her life. And subsequently changed the course of the wellness industry.
Dr Clayton prescribed Lucy a protocol using only peer-reviewed, patented ingredients, each dosed at active levels with a rigorous sourcing procedure, Lucy not only felt better but she uncovered the truth about the supplement industry. Lucy learnt that almost all the supplements sold today deliver no provable benefits yet are still perfectly legal for sale.
Lucy left her career in journalism and public relations to set out to change people’s lives with the creation of The LYMA Supplement. When it launched in 2018 the supplement sold out and garnered high-profile and celebrity clientele, with the product described as “Miracle Pills” by Vogue and “a massive scientific breakthrough” by the Telegraph.
LYMA now exists to give everyone the advantage with proven products, based on proven science and breakthrough technology.
