More than 3,000 Doodle families jumped into the Fall 2026 Doodle Parent Challenge this week, and some of what happened in those five days is just incredible. 🐾 In this celebration episode, I share the wins straight from the live chat and your messages: a Goldendoodle named Willow who finally clocked out for the night, a sit that held while a FedEx driver walked right by, and the moment a Doodle parent swapped a harsh label for "having a difficult moment." In this episode:  🐾 Why a playbook that worked beautifully for your last dog may not fit this one (a mismatch, not a failure)  🐾 Why turning your back or saying "off" 100 times a day never sticks, and what works instead  🐾 The three steps from Day 3: name the paycheck, stop the rehearsal, pay the alternative  🐾 One doable first step for every Doodle parent this week Zoomies to Zen™ doors are open. We kick off live Friday, September 18 at 2 PM Eastern (noon Mountain), and doors close Wednesday, September 16 at 11:59 PM Eastern. There is a folder on your phone. Saved reels, screenshots, a loose-leash method with four steps and you remember two. Forty-seven tips in there, give or take. And your Doodle still loses their whole mind when the doorbell rings. Here is what I want you to hear: that is not evidence that you failed or that you did not try enough. It is evidence about what a tip actually is. A tip is a puzzle piece with no box top. In this episode I walk through the difference between a tip and a system, using recall and the doorbell as the worked examples, and I name the reason your feed is full of one and empty of the other. It is not a conspiracy. It is economics. "By Day 3 of the challenge, I understood my Doodle in a way I never had before. It felt like someone finally gave me the manual." - Sarah M. More than 800 Doodle parents are already in for the 5-Day Doodle Parent Challenge, kicking off Monday night, September 7 at 8pm ET. Complimentary, live, and it is the system. Five days where I hand you the box top instead of another forty-seven tips. The live kickoff happens once. Save your spot before Monday so Day 1 is the first thing you do, not the thing you catch up on. 👉 https://thedoodlepro.com/challenge Doodles are different, wonderfully so. 🐾 CHAPTERS 0:00 The 100 calls they heard and ignored 0:28 The folder on your phone 1:23 Why 47 tips is not training 1:54 Forty-seven humans in one body 2:19 Why your feed is full of tips and empty of systems 3:09 Recall: the tip version vs. the system version 4:07 The doorbell, same pattern 5:01 Exhausted from trying, not from not trying 5:30 You were not set up to fail 5:47 What Monday night is Note: chapter times may drift by up to about a minute in the back half of this episode due to mid-roll ad insertion. There is a Doodle in your neighborhood who has not taken a day off since 2023. The window barking. The full body launch at the doorbell. The patrol route from the front door to the couch to the window and back, like they are being graded on it. Here is the reframe that changes everything: that is not a behavior problem. That is a Doodle running a department nobody created, with no manager, no training, and no lunch break. Meet the Overworked Doodle. In this episode we walk through a real shift log, hour by hour, and then get honest about why the popular advice keeps failing you. Ignoring it does not work, because the barking was never for your benefit. Yelling does not work either, and the reason is sneakier than you think. And anything built on startling, scaring, or hurting a Doodle backfires harder with this population than almost any other, because you cannot punish a dog out of a job they believe is keeping the family alive. Then the part you can actually use: the two things the Overworked Doodle needs, in order, and one small assignment for this week that takes about ten minutes. Doodles are different, wonderfully so. 🐾 WHAT WE COVER (00:00) The Doodle who never clocked out (00:44) A day in the life, the full shift log (01:54) Diligent, not dramatic (02:45) Vigilance is a workload, not a personality (03:16) Why the stress never gets to reset (04:03) Why “just ignore it” and yelling backfire (04:30) What force and fear actually do (05:02) The two things that work, in order (05:48) Your one small assignment this week (06:14) Five job titles, and finding yours YOUR NEXT STEP The 5-Day Doodle Parent Challenge starts Monday night, September 7. Somewhere in your house right now, there is a Doodle on the clock. Monitoring the window. Tracking the snacks. Escorting you to the bathroom. Nobody hired them, and that is exactly the problem. In this episode, Corinne Gearhart of The Doodle Pro® explains why every Doodle assigns themselves a job, why the barking and the sock stealing are not misbehavior, and the one principle that changes everything: an unmet need does not disappear, it gets self-directed. You'll meet the self-appointed surveillance shift, the Sock Acquisition Specialist, and the accidental HR department every household is secretly running (kindly: that is not a criticism of you). There are five job titles a Doodle can hold, and each one needs something completely different from you. 🐾 Find out your Doodle's actual job title. Your Goldendoodle is brushed. Your Goldendoodle is also matted. Both of those things can be true on the same dog on the same day, and it does not mean you failed. In Part 2, Fear Free certified groomer Joy Burton gets specific about how to brush a Goldendoodle at home. The brush most Doodle parents own that should go in the trash, and the two to buy instead. Line brushing, step by step, in words you can use tonight. The comb rule that settles the front desk conversation before you ever get there. The six places mats always start. Skunk brushing, which is exactly as delightful as it sounds. And the red flags that tell you a salon is not the right room for your dog. We also get into crates and cage free grooming, what a good groomer does the second a dog says they are scared, and the difference between fear and aggression that almost nobody names out loud. Then the room opens up. The Doodle parents who joined this recording live named their own dogs and asked Joy about them, and she answered. Her closing line is the one I want every Doodle parent to hear: it is never the dog. New here? Start with Part 1, Why Is My Goldendoodle Matting When I Brush Every Day? 🐾 What groomers wish you knew about brushing your Doodle, on the house. 🐾 My favorite brushes and grooming tools, the whole shelf in one place. Flat pin brushes are built for short coats and will skate right over a Doodle. Match the brush size to your dog’s size. Chris Christensen is the investment version, Groomers Supply House and JellyPet are excellent for less, and Paw Brothers extra-long bristle is Joy’s pick if you are just learning the technique. The Greyhound comb: a plain metal comb, about five or six dollars, any brand. This is the tool that tells you the truth. Detangling spray: for maintenance and softening tangles before you brush. It will not remove a mat that is already too far gone. An electric toothbrush: not for teeth. For desensitizing a puppy’s face to buzzing and vibration before a groomer ever holds a clipper there. Shampoo and conditioner: Joy’s picks are NKITA Pet for a simple all-in-one, and Curly Wax if you want to bring the curl out. 🚫 The one to skip: the de-matting comb. Those hooked blades in the at-home kits are a professional tool. Joy does not even let her own bathers use one. 🐾 Want the printable tool list? Grab my Top Brushes cheat sheet. You are brushing. You bought the good brush. And your groomer still met you at the door with the word "matted." Here is the part nobody explains: Doodles do shed, the hair just gets trapped in the curl instead of falling on your floor. That trapped hair is what mats. So the problem usually is not how often you are brushing. It is what you are brushing with, and how deep you are getting. In part one of this two-part conversation, professional groomer Joy Burton walks me through what is really happening on the other side of that grooming table. Why Doodles are genuinely high maintenance and nobody warned you. Why your groomer's comb tells a different story than your eyes do. Why waiting until eight months for a first haircut is the thing that causes trauma, not an early one. And why a shave down is an act of care, not a failure. Joy is Fear Free certified, has been grooming professionally for over a decade, and specializes in dogs who are scared of the process. She is honest, she is warm, and she is not here to blame you. This one was recorded live with Honor Society members in the room. Part 2 drops next week. 🐾 WHAT GROOMERS WISH THEY COULD TELL YOU Joy said out loud what most groomers only think at the front desk, and she is not the only one. I interviewed professional groomers all over the country and asked them what they wish they could say to Doodle parents if they had the time and the space to be honest. Then I put every bit of it in one guide. The brushing truths nobody says at pickup, and none of it holds back. The Doodle Pro® Summit opens Monday: 15 leading experts, 16 Doodle-specific sessions, 3 days, and your seat is complimentary. But 16 sessions is a lot, and nobody stands at a buffet and eats everything. That's not a buffet problem, that's a plate problem. So I built you a trail map. Take the 60-second quiz at https://thedoodlepro.com/summitquiz and I'll tell you exactly which session to watch first, what to climb next, and one scenic detour worth taking, matched to YOUR Doodle. Already registered? The quiz tells you where to start Monday at 9am MT. Not registered yet? Your complimentary spot is one click past your result. In this short episode I walk three of the fifteen trails (resource guarding, separation anxiety, and the Doodle with no off switch), do the honest math on fitting a three-day trail into a real week, and invite you to the pre-party call this Sunday at 2pm ET / 7pm UK, where the pop-up community doors swing open. "Wait, is this a joke?" That's a real message I got about the Doodle Pro® Summit. So today I'm answering it the best way I know how: by letting you hear the experts yourself. I pulled four clips straight from the Summit interviews. Kristi Benson reframes demand barking in a way that made me laugh out loud. Dr. Adam Christman nearly has a panic attack as I quiz him on every chew in the pet store aisle. Dr. Sylvalyn Hammond, The Honest Vet, shares why she fights pet misinformation with nothing to sell you. And Kate LaSala reveals the surprising truth about dogs who bark and lunge on leash. Hint: most aren't aggressive at all. Doodle parents from 21 countries and 46 states have already registered. The Summit is July 27 to 29, fully online, and completely complimentary to attend live. Plus, every day at 5 PM ET I go live for Doodle Talk Live to translate the talks into exactly what to do with YOUR Doodle. 🐾 Save your spot: https://doodleprosummit.com Corinne Gearhart is the founder of The Doodle Pro®, a science-based training platform helping Doodle parents raise calmer, well-mannered dogs using positive reinforcement. Ever had someone call your Doodle a "mutt" or insist they're "not a real breed"? I just got back from Alaska, where I went dog sledding on a glacier and completely geeked out on the musher. 🐾 Here's what stopped me in my tracks: the Alaskan Husky, one of the most respected working dogs in the world, isn't a registered breed either. It's a type, intentionally bred for purpose over generations. Sound familiar? It's the exact same story as our Goldendoodles and Labradoodles. In this short and sweet episode I share the picky eater test (some of our Doodles would not make the sled team, and that's okay), why your Doodle was bred for companionship, and the phrase that changed how I think about the whole "real breed" debate: purpose over paperwork. Plus, I'm pulling back the curtain just a little on the biggest project I've ever built for you. Can a Doodle truly be bred ethically, or have you started to wonder what really separates a responsible breeder from a polished broker website and the right buzzwords? This week, Bunny's mom Alexis Devine joins me for Part 1 of a conversation I have wanted to have for years. 🐾 Alexis didn't start as a dog expert. She picked a Doodle because Doodles are cute, and then learned the hard and beautiful way that there is a sensitive, intelligent working dog living under all that fluff. We talk about why the looks can be deceiving, why so many Doodles are wired for alertness and herding, and what that means for the dog in your living room. Then we get into the buttons. Alexis explains how the system actually works, how Bunny pressed her very first button, and the insight that made me tear up: the magic isn't that the dog speaks English. It's that the buttons teach US how to listen. This one will change how you see your Doodle. Part 2 drops next Thursday. I Want to Train With You This Spring

10 min
View
You have been trying to figure this out. The YouTube videos. The puppy class. Standing in the park calling their name while they ran toward another dog. Calling them in from the backyard while they barked at the fence. Apologizing to guests at the door. Googling at eleven o'clock at night. You have been doing this mostly alone. Without a system that was built for your specific dog. Without a community of people who understand what you are dealing with. That changes this week. The Doodle Parent Challenge starts April 20th, 2026. The pre-party is tomorrow. And in this episode, Corinne Gearhart, M.A., FFCP gives you everything you need to know before we begin. IN THIS EPISODE: Who this challenge is for. Corinne speaks directly to several different Doodle parents — the families who have been managing the same behaviors for years, the teenage Doodle parents whose dog changed at fourteen months, the brand new puppy parents who want to start right, and the Doodle parents in British Columbia, England, Spain, New Zealand, the Netherlands, and everywhere else in this global community. The Pre-Party Kickoff — Friday April 17th at 7pm Mountain Time. What it is, why attendance matters for the giveaway, what to expect, and what to do if your time zone makes the live call difficult. The replay is in your portal. What challenge week actually looks like, day by day. Day 1 through Day 5. What each lesson covers, why the sequence matters, what you will actually practice, and how much time it takes each day. Why Corinne chose Doodles on purpose when most trainers are glad someone else handles them. The trainer friend who told her she was glad Corinne works with Doodles so she does not have to. What 50,000 hours of breed-specific experience means for the families in this challenge. The global community. Doodle parents from 25+ US states, Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and beyond are registered for this challenge. Doodle love is global. So are Doodle challenges. So is this community. The replay is all yours until April 29th however you join. The personal invitation. This is the episode where Corinne says directly: I want to train with you this spring. Not with a hypothetical Doodle in a perfect setup. With yours. The one at the fence. The one at the park. The one you love completely and also find genuinely exhausting sometimes. WHAT YOU WILL WALK AWAY WITH: Everything you need to know before the pre-party tomorrow night and the challenge this Sunday. Clear logistics. A warm welcome. And the genuine sense that someone who chose these dogs on purpose is ready to work with yours. MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE: Pre-Party Kickoff — Friday April 17th, 7pm Mountain / 9pm Eastern: thedoodlepro.com/challenge  Free Doodle Parent Challenge — starts April 20, 2026: thedoodlepro.com/challenge  Free portal for registered participants: doodlechallenge.membership.io  VIP Pass (90 days replay + workbook, through April 21st): thedoodlepro.thrivecart.com/doodle-parent-challenge--vip-pass/  Trust Fund Puppy Quiz: thedoodlepro.com/trustfundpuppy  Your Doodle's Daily Schedule Blueprint: thedoodlepro.com/doodleblueprint  Listen on all apps: thedoodlepro.com/listen Corinne Gearhart is the founder of The Doodle Pro®, a science-based training platform helping Doodle parents raise calmer, well-mannered dogs using positive reinforcement. You registered for the challenge. Or you have been thinking about it. And somewhere in the back of your mind is a voice that says: five days. Is five days actually going to change anything? That question deserves an honest answer. Not hype. Not promises of a perfect dog. The truth about what five days actually does — for the Doodle who has been running the household for years, the teenager who got harder at fourteen months, the brand new puppy parent who is already googling at eleven o'clock at night, and the Doodle parents in England, British Columbia, Spain, and New Zealand joining from across the world. IN THIS EPISODE: What five days is not — and why that honesty matters more than any promise. What Day 5 actually feels like for your specific Doodle. Not for a hypothetical dog in a perfect training setup. For the dog you actually have, in the backyard, at the park, at the front door. Corinne walks through what the shift looks like at every stage — years into the same behaviors, teenage Doodle chaos, brand new puppy, and early puppy families who want to start right before the patterns harden. Why five days will not fix eight years — but will show you that eight years is fixable. And why that distinction is the most important thing that can happen at the beginning of a real training journey. The moment that changes things. The first time your Doodle turns away from the fence and looks at you instead. What that moment means, why it is not the finish line, and why evidence is everything. Why you are not starting from zero — and how everything you have already tried is actually your greatest asset in this work. Why Corinne chose Doodles on purpose when other trainers were relieved to hand them off. What 50,000 hours of Doodle-specific experience means for the families who walk through the door of this challenge. What the Doodle Parent Challenge week actually looks like, day by day. A message for international Doodle parents — the replay is in your portal and it is yours until April 29th. This community spans 25+ US states and multiple countries. However you join, this week was built for you. WHAT YOU WILL WALK AWAY WITH: The honest answer about what five days does. A clear picture of what Day 5 feels like for your specific dog. And enough evidence to decide whether showing up this week is worth it. (Spoiler: it is.) You called him in from the backyard 100 times while he barked at the fence. He heard every single one. He glanced over. And went right back to barking. You have watched the YouTube videos. You did the puppy class — maybe your Doodle was even a star student inside the building. You tried the online training membership. Maybe you hired the expensive professional trainer. And none of it transferred to real life. In this episode,I break down exactly why — and it has nothing to do with your consistency or your Doodle's intelligence. The gap is not that you have not tried hard enough. The gap is the difference between a tip and a system. A tip teaches a moment. A system builds a dog. You have been collecting moments. Your Doodle needed a curriculum. IN THIS EPISODE: Why the YouTube videos, the online training membership, and the expensive trainer did not transfer to your backyard or the park — and why that is not your fault. Why puppy class is a genuinely valuable starting point and worth doing — and why chapter one was never going to be enough for a Doodle brain. What comes after puppy class, and why most Doodle parents never got it. The barrier experience in puppy class — what it actually means when your Doodle needed to be on the other side of a barrier to focus, and why this is a completely normal Doodle brain response, not a sign your dog was the problem. Why the park undoes everything your Doodle learned in a controlled setting — the transfer problem, what it is, and what actually fixes it. Why Doodles hit this wall faster than any other breed — the neuro combo, the pattern-mapping speed, the adolescence amplifier, and why an intelligent dog can learn the wrong curriculum just as fast as the right one. What a Doodle-specific training system actually builds — and why it builds trust rather than compliance. The difference between positive reinforcement as a method and positive reinforcement as a sequenced system — and why your Doodle needs the second one. WHAT YOU WILL WALK AWAY WITH: A clear understanding of why tips do not transfer to real life for a Doodle brain — and why that is a system problem, not a you problem. The framework for what comes after puppy class. And the beginning of what a complete, Doodle-specific curriculum actually looks like. Is life with your Doodle more chaotic than calm? There is a name for the pattern behind it — and it is not bad dog. In this episode I am decoding the Trust Fund Puppy: what it is, why Doodles drift there faster than almost any other breed, ten signs your dog has landed there, and the one structural shift that flips the whole dynamic. This concept comes from trainer and author Suzanne Clothier and her relationship-centered training philosophy — one of the most useful frameworks I have ever brought into my work with Doodle families. If last week's episode on the viral RVC Doodle behavior study resonated, this is the practical follow-up. The researchers documented this pattern across 9,000+ dogs without naming it. This episode names it and starts the fix. 🐾 Take the 2-minute Trust Fund Puppy Quiz: https://thedoodlepro.com/trustfundpuppy  🐾 Join the free Doodle Parent Challenge (April 20): https://thedoodlepro.com/challenge  📚 Your Doodle's Daily Schedule Blueprint: https://thedoodlepro.com/doodleblueprint Corinne Gearhart is the founder of The Doodle Pro®, a science-based training platform helping Doodle parents raise calmer, well-mannered dogs using positive reinforcement. Before you panic, read this. I read all 24 pages of the actual study. Plus the 2024 companion study from the same research team. And what I found is a story that is significantly more nuanced, more hopeful, and more useful than any headline captured. In this episode I break down what the study actually measured (owner survey data, not clinical veterinary observation), which Doodle crosses were and were not studied (Goldendoodles, Bernedoodles and Sheepadoodles were NOT included), what the Labradoodle findings actually show, the training methods finding nobody reported, and the health-behavior connection buried in the discussion section that may be more relevant to your dog than anything else in the study. If you've ever been judged in a comment section, at the dog park, or by a trainer for choosing a Doodle, this episode is for you.  I dig into the most common criticisms of Doodles and do something most people in those conversations don't do: I actually engage with them. I explain what the critics get right, where their arguments fall apart, and why the science behind your Doodle's intelligence, sensitivity, and drive is exactly the reason Doodle-specific training matters.  You'll also hear about my beloved Standard Poodle Hershey, why a Poodle and a Doodle are genuinely different dogs, and what organizations like GANA and WALA are doing to raise breeding standards.  This one is for every Doodle parent who has ever wondered if they made the wrong choice. Does your Doodle seem impossible to tire out? You walked them, played fetch, hit the dog park — and they're STILL bouncing off the walls. Here's the truth: more exercise isn't the answer. It might actually be making things worse. In this episode, Corinne Gearhart, The Doodle Pro®, shares why the classic "a tired dog is a good dog" advice fails Doodles — and what's really going on when your dog can't settle. Before becoming The Doodle Pro, Corinne owned one of her area's top dog walking companies. And what she watched happen over time with those dogs completely changed how she thinks about Doodle energy: the more they walked, the more those dogs could handle. She wasn't tiring them out. She was building athletes. Many Doodle parents ask whether a board and train program for dogs is the best solution. Many Doodle parents eventually ask the same question: “Should I send my dog to a board and train program?” It’s a very understandable thought. When your dog is jumping, pulling on leash, barking, or struggling to settle, the idea of sending them away for a few weeks and getting back a perfectly trained dog can sound incredibly appealing. In this episode, I’m sharing a personal story about sending my own Poodle to a board and train program years ago, long before I became a professional trainer. At the time, I had young children and simply wanted to do the best thing for my dog. I had heard that positive reinforcement was the best approach, and I asked a lot of questions before enrolling her. One of the answers I heard back then is something I now recognize as a major red flag:  “We start with positive reinforcement and only use other tools if necessary.” When I picked up my Poodle, she had a beautiful down-stay. But the moment I stopped using the tool she had been trained with, the behavior disappeared. And the emotional fallout for my dog was real. She became more anxious and started submissive peeing. That experience taught me something important about how dogs actually learn. Years later, after becoming a professional trainer and working with Doodles every day, I revisited that exact skill. I wanted to know if we could teach an even stronger down stay without relying on tools like prong collars or pressure. That work eventually became Relaxation Protocol for Distractable Doodles™, a training approach designed specifically for the high-energy, highly social nature of Doodles. Today I regularly see Doodles learn to settle calmly even with real-life distractions like doorbells, visitors, or activity in the home — all through positive reinforcement training. In this episode, I talk about: • Why behaviors built with pressure often disappear when the pressure is removed  • The red flag phrase many dog owners hear when asking about positive reinforcement training  • Why many board and train programs still rely on aversive tools like prong collars or e-collars  • Why sending a dog away for training doesn’t automatically transfer skills back to the family  • Why training together often creates stronger long-term results  • How to teach a Doodle to settle and relax using positive reinforcement training I also want to be clear about something important. Skilled, science-based trainers can be incredibly valuable. The best trainers don’t replace the relationship between you and your dog. They help guide you so you can build that relationship yourself. Because in the end, the most important training happens in the everyday moments between you and your dog. Many Doodle parents also find that having a predictable daily rhythm helps their dogs settle more easily. I walk through the exact structure that works well for Doodles in my bestselling book, Your Doodle’s Daily Schedule Blueprint™, which shows you how to create a daily routine that supports calmer behavior at home. In a few weeks, I’ll also be hosting a live Doodle Parent Challenge where we’ll start building the training skills that help Doodles focus, listen, and settle. I’ll share more details about that soon. In Part Two of my conversation with Jean Donaldson, members of The Doodle Pro® Honor Society were live in the room asking real training questions about distraction, jumping, dog parks, and choosing the right trainer. How do you choose a dog trainer you can trust? Why does your dog listen inside but ignore you outside? And what does “balanced training” actually mean? We break it all down. How to Choose a Dog Trainer Not all trainers are created equal. We discuss why certification matters, what organizations to look for, and why transparency about motivation is essential. If a trainer avoids explaining how they reinforce behavior, that’s a red flag. We also unpack common phrases like “balanced training,” “it’s about energy,” or “I don’t use food,” and what those may signal. Positive reinforcement is not permissive. It is structured, evidence-based, and designed to change behavior without unwanted side effects. Why Your Dog Listens Inside But Not Outside If your Doodle knows “sit” in the kitchen but forgets it outside, they’re not being stubborn. They’re distracted. Training with distractions requires gradual steps. Instead of jumping from calm indoor practice straight to the sidewalk with other dogs, you build difficulty in layers. This is what trainers call proofing, but in everyday language, it simply means helping your dog succeed in progressively harder environments. We talk through how to train a distracted dog and why skipping steps leads to frustration. Stop Jumping Without Damaging the Relationship Jumping is common, especially with social, enthusiastic Doodles. Instead of focusing only on “don’t jump,” we discuss teaching an alternate behavior. If jumping is illegal, what’s legal? Sit? Down? Both can work for real-life greeting manners. Dogs must do something. Clear structure helps them choose the right behavior. Are Dog Parks Bad? Dog parks are often labeled dangerous, but are they always a bad idea? We explore when dog parks can be appropriate, what normal dog play actually looks like, and why growling and mouthing aren’t automatically aggression. Understanding canine body language helps reduce unnecessary fear. Dog parks aren’t one-size-fits-all. The right environment depends on your individual dog. Resource Guarding and Teaching Fetch We also answer Honor Society member questions about resource guarding and teaching fetch without creating conflict. Sometimes dogs are simply “running their software.” Not every behavior needs suppression. Clear structure, gradual shaping, and understanding motivation go much further than force. If you’re looking for science-based dog training that protects your relationship and builds real-world reliability, this episode is for you. Be sure to listen to Part One for the foundation on dominance myths and anthropomorphism. And if you’d like deeper implementation, live Q&A access, and structured monthly training focus, you can learn more about The Doodle Pro® Honor Society at thedoodlepro.com/society. Doodles are different. Wonderfully so. For years, I swore I would never do this. The Doodle Pro® Honor Society was intentionally closed. You could only join if you were an alumni of one of my courses like Zoomies to Zen™ or Relaxation Protocol for Distractable Doodles™. I loved that model. It felt protected. Intentional. Deeply personal. And then something happened. While speaking at Podfest in Orlando, I found myself waving down Dr. Adam Christman, Chief Veterinary Officer of DVM360, bestselling author, and one of the most trusted veterinary voices online. What started as a funny, human moment over Doodles and Dachshunds turned into a yes that changed everything. He agreed to come teach my community. And suddenly, I couldn’t ignore the truth anymore. I’ve been gatekeeping access to world-class experts from people who love their Doodles just as much as my alumni do. Podcast listeners. Email subscribers. Longtime followers. Thoughtful, science-minded Doodle parents who want to do right by their dogs. So in this episode, I’m sharing the full story behind a decision I never thought I’d make. In this episode, I cover: Why I originally kept the Honor Society alumni-onlyThe Podfest moment that shifted everything for meHow hosting experts like Jean Donaldson and Dr. Adam Christman changed my perspectiveWhat actually happens inside the Doodle Pro® Honor Society month by monthWhy this is not a quick-fix training programWho this membership is truly for (and who it’s not)How ongoing expert access and community support changes the Doodle parenting experienceWhy I’m opening enrollment to everyone for the first time everWhat the Doodle Pro® Honor Society includes: Monthly live Q&A sessions with me for Doodle-specific training, grooming, behavior, and health questionsLive expert guest sessions with top trainers, veterinarians, authors, and behavior professionalsA growing, searchable library of 20+ hours of Doodle-specific resourcesA private community of Doodle parents who genuinely understand the chaos and the sweetnessA year-long, seasonal curriculum that layers calm, enrichment, confidence, and real-life skillsThis is ongoing support. Winter storms are hitting across the U.S., and I’m releasing this episode a little early because the cold fronts are hitting hard right now. When extreme cold rolls in, I know many Doodle parents start wondering the same things:  Is it too cold to walk?  How long is too long outside?  Should my Doodle still potty outdoors?  And how do I protect paws from ice and salt? In this special winter episode of The Doodle Pro® Podcast, I walk you through how cold is actually too cold for Doodles, what veterinarians generally recommend for winter potty breaks, how to protect your Doodle’s paws from winter damage, and what to do inside when outdoor time is limited. I’ll cover: Why wind chill, ice, and surface conditions matter more than the number on the thermometerHow Doodle and Poodle coats affect cold tolerance and where they don’tHow long potty breaks should last during extreme coldSimple paw protection strategies including balm, booties, rinsing, and ice preventionHow to prevent matting during wet, snowy weatherWhy indoor enrichment matters more than long walks during winter stormsHow to support calm, regulated behavior when winter changes your routineThis episode is especially helpful if this is your Doodle’s first cold winter, if you live in a warmer climate and are suddenly dealing with extreme cold, or if your Doodle is lifting paws, hesitating, or rushing potty trips. Shorter walks, quicker potty breaks, and more indoor enrichment are not failures. They’re smart, seasonal adjustments. 🎁 Grab my complimentary Winter Paw Protection Guide: https://thedoodlepro.com/winter It includes my favorite paw protection products plus a simple DIY option to make winter easier on paws and on you. If you’re new here, I’m Corinne, a professional dog trainer who specializes in Doodles and helps Doodle parents navigate training, behavior, and real life with confidence and compassion. If your Doodle gets wild at the same time every day, barking out the window, stealing socks, or melting down over nothing, you’re not imagining it. In this episode of The Doodle Pro®: Positive Dog Training Tips for a Calm & Well-Behaved Doodle, I break down why these predictable behavior challenges show up on a schedule and what they actually mean about your Doodle’s day. I’m Corinne Gearhart, certified dog trainer and Doodle expert, and I see this pattern constantly. Many Doodle parents assume daily chaos is about excess energy, lack of training, or even grooming and exercise routines. But in reality, these behaviors are often caused by predictable gaps in a dog’s schedule, inconsistent enrichment rotation, and unclear household structure. In this episode, I explain why a Doodle’s wild behavior often peaks at the same time each day and why this isn’t misbehavior at all. It’s a sign your Doodle is responding to unmet expectations and a lack of structure. When dogs don’t know what they’re supposed to be doing during certain parts of the day, they create their own jobs, and those jobs usually involve barking, grabbing, or pacing. You’ll learn how to: Identify the exact time your Doodle’s daily chaos beginsLook 30 to 60 minutes earlier to find where calm starts to unravelUnderstand why more exercise or more training cues don’t always fix the issueUse simple household management and schedule shifts to support calmer behaviorThis episode is designed to give you a clear, actionable takeaway you can use immediately, without overwhelm or blame. It’s especially helpful if you’re navigating common pet behavior challenges at home and want solutions rooted in positive, practical dog training. I also share how this concept fits into the broader framework I teach in Your Doodle’s Daily Schedule Blueprint™, where understanding structure and timing helps Doodle parents create calmer, more predictable days. Whether you’re raising a puppy or living with an adult Doodle, this episode will help you better understand your dog’s behavior, strengthen your bond, and build a daily routine that actually supports calm. 🎧 Coming next: The one schedule mistake that keeps calm from sticking, even when you’re trying really hard. If your Doodle feels like a completely different dog after lunch—zooming through the house, barking nonstop, stealing socks, or demanding your attention—this episode is for you. After 50,000+ hours working hands-on with Doodles, I created what I now call The Midday Reset™. It’s not a strict training plan, and it’s not about wearing your dog out. It’s a repeatable rhythm that helps your Doodle know what to expect, so their nervous system can settle—and so can yours. In this episode of The Doodle Pro® Podcast, I break down why midday chaos happens, why it’s especially common in smart, sensitive Doodles, and how a simple reset routine can change the entire tone of your afternoons. 💡 In this episode, you’ll learn: ✔️ Why midday zoomies and barking happen (and why it’s not your fault) ✔️ How overstimulation builds throughout the day ✔️ What The Midday Reset™ is and how it works ✔️ Why this approach is more effective than longer walks or more training ✔️ How predictable rhythm supports calm and focus 📚 I also share a peek inside Your Doodle’s Daily Schedule Blueprint™, now a #1 Amazon Best Seller, which shows Doodle parents how to build flexible daily structure that actually works in real life. 👉 Next listen: To understand the foundation behind The Midday Reset™, cue up Episode 67: Why Structure Works for Doodles: The Secret to Calm, Connection, and Better Behavior. 🧠 Training and enrichment tools I trust Brain-building tools for smart, busy Doodles 👉 https://thedoodlepro.com/shopbrain 🎧 You don’t have to just survive the chaos. Let’s build a routine your Doodle—and your whole household—can rely on. Because Doodles aren’t just “high-energy mutts.”  They’re different—wonderfully so.
