The Philadelphia Flyers accomplished their biggest short-term priority in addressing the goalie position behind Dan Vladar when they traded for Joseph Woll a month ago. The Philadelphia Flyers mostly took care of in-house business on Day 1 of free agency, extending the contracts Dan Vladar and Tyson Foerster. But outside of the 4th line’s Garnet Hathaway replacement in Noel Acciari, Danny Briere didn’t do much to improve the 2026-27 Flyers. Danny Briere and Keith Jones have said since they took over the Philadelphia Flyers’ front office that they’d explore every avenue to improve the team- trades, draft, UFA signings, international free agents, and potentially even OFFER SHEETS! They’ve become very rare in the NHL, but it is part of the rules that a team can attempt to sign another’s restricted free agents and compensate that team with draft picks.
