Animals are the best part of the homestead. Even if you aren't living on a chunk of land, there is one homestead animal that you can have: chickens. Chickens are a great first homestead animal that can help you be self sufficient by providing food for you and your family: meat and eggs.

I cover all of the basics in this episode like where to get your chickens, when to get them, how many chickens you actually need, different types of chicken coops, and more! I love having chickens on my homestead. I know what kind of conditions they live in and what exactly goes into making their eggs. You can have that kind of joy too!
