At 10:30pm on June 2, 2000, 15 year old Heather Robinson heard her family’s land line telephone ring, and so she picked it up. But before she could even say, “hello,” she heard her father already saying, "hello" to whoever had just called them; He had picked up the other land line telephone upstairs in his bedroom. Heather was about to hang up, but she got curious when she heard the tense, low tone of the person her father was speaking to. So, she decided to just mute her handset and secretly listen in to her dad’s conversation. What she would hear over the next 45 seconds would not only change her life forever, but it would also make headlines all over the world.

Around 2am on April 6th 2018, a mysterious person walked down a snowy suburban street in Wadsworth, Ohio. At some point, this person came to a stop in front of a modest two story home and then looked around to make sure no one was watching them. Feeling satisfied no one was, this mystery person turned away from the road and walked down the driveway toward the backyard of the property. What they did next was unspeakably cruel... and it was caught on camera.

On the morning of August 10th, 1991, in a little rural town in Arizona, two women walked across a parking lot toward a Buddhist temple. They were there to prepare a meal for the monks who lived inside. As they walked, the women noticed that none of the monks were outside meditating or gardening, which was strange. And, when they reached the front door, not only was it locked, which was strange, but also, there was also this huge puddle of water forming in front of it which they just couldn't understand. The women sensed something was off, but they shrugged and left the front door, and found an open door on the side of the building and went inside. Minutes later, those women would come running back out, hysterical, screaming for help.

On September 6th, 1988, a middle aged woman named Cindy Borton, was washing dishes in her little house in Shenandoah, Iowa. As she did this, she heard a knock on her back door. She glanced at her watch and saw that she only had a few minutes before she had to get ready for work, and so she just hoped that whoever was there, was not expecting a long visit.… A few hours later, the police would arrive at Cindy’s house and they would discover a crime scene so gruesome, that they had to call in a special investigative unit just to process it.

When he got close, he still couldn't tell what it was, so he bent down to get a closer look. As he did this, he heard the sound of something moving behind him, and then everything went black….

One September night in 2006, a man left his office in upstate New York and walked across the nearly vacant parking lot to his truck. In May of 2009, someone in Guatemala uploaded an 18 minute long video to YouTube titled, “YouTube Murder." Within hours of it being published, the video had gone massively viral to the point where YouTube’s servers began to crash, and in Guatemala, angry crowds of people began forming up in the streets demanding justice. When the president of Guatemala reluctantly authorized an investigation into what the video actually meant, no one was ready for the insane truth it would reveal. On December 11th, 2006, in a beautiful little town in Italy, two men were out for a walk when they noticed a fire in a nearby second story apartment window. They quickly ran up the outside stairs to get to that apartment, but when they reached it and looked through the open front door, they froze, because what they saw was nothing short of a nightmare. Today's story is about the "Erba Massacre" and it is extremely graphic, upsetting, and it involves harm to a child, so listener discretion is advised.

On March 22nd, 2003, a highly intelligent, very successful couple decided to play a strange new game. The game was very involved, and required handcuffs and blindfolds and heavy chairs, but once they were in position, they got the hang of it quickly and thought it was actually pretty fun. But after playing for a little while, something very unexpected happened, and before either of them could comprehend it, a scream filled their apartment, then there was silence. (This story is a wild ride with one of the strangest conclusions we've covered on this show, so make sure you stick around to the end.)

On the morning of March 8, 1961, a 13 year old boy living near Seattle, Washington, walked up the front steps of his house, opened the front door and went inside. He called out to see if anyone was home, but it was silent. He shrugged, then dropped his books and walked straight across the dining room and down a narrow hallway. When he reached the end of that hallway, where it led into the kitchen, the boy stopped. Frozen with fear, he just stared at what was in front of him…. Located in the northwestern section of Canada lies an 11,000 square mile stretch of untouched wilderness called the "Nahanni Valley" (aka "The Headless Valley"). This area is virtually inaccessible, as there are no roads, trails or other obvious access points. It is full of large dangerous animals, steep cliffs and brutal weather conditions. And it is believed to be haunted. Today's episode is based on the first hand accounts of the people who have actually found a way inside this valley and lived to tell the tale. What they saw and experienced is truly terrifying.

In 2006 a couple found themselves lost in the rugged San Jacinto mountain range in California. Starving, dehydrated, and desperate, they stumbled upon a campsite tucked away in an isolated ravine. They rushed over to it to see if the owner was nearby, but before they could locate them, the couple saw something hidden inside of the tent. This discovery would change their lives forever.

In 2008 in Canada, a highly controversial movie script found its way into the police’s hands. When they read it, they immediately told the filmmaker that they would not be allowed to produce the script into a movie, and then the police wiped the script from the face of the earth... Except recently I got my hands on an uncensored full version, and I used it, along with several news reports, to tell the highly controversial story that was supposed to stay a secret.

In 2017, an aspiring teenage artist was invited to come out to an art college in Florida for a personalized tour of their campus. They told him to bring along some of his best artwork to show the staff, and so the teen decided he would make a special papier-mâché mask just for the occasion. After it was complete, he packed it up, along with his other things, and then he got ready to board a bus bound for Florida. Three weeks later, the police would learn the horrifying truth about what that mask was actually used for.

In 1999 there was a rash of disappearances inside of the famous Yosemite National Park in California. When the police couldn't figure out where these people had gone, or who (or what) was behind their disappearances, a rumor started amongst locals that a "monster" must be running loose in the park attacking people. At first, this was just an urban legend, but by the end of the year, police would discover there really was a monster in the park, and they really were behind the disappearances.

In 2012, a man living in Omaha, Nebraska met a woman on a dating website and after dinner, he invited her into his apartment. As they started getting intimate, they heard a knock on the door. Annoyed, the man got up and went to look through the peep hole, and he couldn’t believe who he saw standing on the other side of the door. This story has one of the strangest endings I’ve ever covered. Let’s just say, the plot twist is HUGE.

In 2012, a West Virginia father knocked on his 16 year old daughter's bedroom door, expecting her to open it up and say, "hello." But after knocking, there was only silence in her room. He knocked a few more times, but his daughter still did not emerge, so the father decided he would go inside and make sure she was OK. Little did he know, what he would discover inside of that room would ruin his life.

In 1995, a man was in his basement running on the treadmill when he heard thumping sounds coming from upstairs. He went upstairs to investigate, and at first he didn’t see or hear anything unusual. But when he reached the end of the first floor hallway and looked in the dining room, he saw the source of the sounds and he immediately started screaming.

One morning in 1983, a truck driver was driving down a lonely Alaskan highway, when he saw a young girl come bounding out of the forest that butted up against the road. The girl ran out onto the highway, turned toward him, and began sprinting in his direction while screaming and waving her arms in the air. The driver came to a quick stop and as the girl got closer, he saw she had no shoes on and had a handcuff dangling from one of her wrists. When she reached his vehicle she threw herself inside and screamed at him to drive. The driver had no idea who she was or what was wrong, but it was obvious she was in serious trouble, so he didn't ask questions and just hit the accelerator. It would turn out this young girl had been kidnapped, and that morning she was being transported out to an isolated cabin in the middle of the Alaskan wilderness to play a "game." She had managed to escape, but before she did, her captor had told her what this game entailed, believing she would die before she could tell anyone about it. But of course, she lived, and after the truck driver brought her home, she spoke to police and told them all the horrible details of the wicked game in the woods.

On March 20, 1995, a crumpled up newspaper was spotted lying on the floor of a Tokyo, Japan train car. In Japan, the subways are always immaculately clean, so this newspaper stood out like a sore thumb. As commuters stared at the trash, wondering who would be so inconsiderate to litter, a wet spot began to form at the center of the newspaper, like it was sitting on top of a liquid that was now starting to seep through. As soon as this began to happen, everyone in the train car started to cough. The cough was mild at first, but within minutes it progressed into a violent cough making it hard for people to catch their breath. By the time the train pulled into the Government Center station, the commuters on board the train were clawing at the doors of the car to get off...

Carol and Reggie Sumner were high school sweethearts in the late 1960s, but after graduation they broke up and went their separate ways. 40 years later, after both of their respective marriages ended in divorce, the pair reconnected through a random unintentional phone call. Within days of this chance encounter, the two were happily going on dates again as if they were picking up right where they left off in high school. The pair would get married and move to Florida where they planned to live out their days, relaxing on the beach and enjoying each other's company. However, shortly after moving to "The Sunshine State" a very unexpected guest would turn up at their front door, who would ultimately change their lives forever.

On Christmas Eve in 1992, an 18 year old woman named Danita Gullette stepped outside of her place of work into the freezing Dayton, Ohio night air and began walking toward her mother's house. After a few minutes, Danita decided to call her mother to ask her something that couldn't wait until she arrived. So Danita stopped at a payphone, slipped a few coins into the phone's coin slot, then dialed the number she knew by heart. At her mother's house the phone started to ring, but when Danita's sister picked up the receiver, the phone was silent. Around the same time, the Dayton police received a call about a disturbance at a payphone in town. This would be the start of one of the most incomprehensible crime sprees in American history.

In 2012, a young man drove his truck into an Anchorage Alaska parking lot and came to a stop next to a small, bright teal colored shack. This shack was a coffee shop, and this young man worked there as a barista. That morning he had a shift, so he hopped out of his truck, went around to the side of the structure and put his keys into the door's lock. When he turned them, he noticed there was no resistance, the door was already unlocked. Confused, he pushed the door open and saw right away the place had clearly been robbed. He called his boss, who in turn called the police, and then they asked to review the shop's security footage from the night before. And when they watched it, they saw they had a much bigger problem than just theft.

This is the story of what is, quite possibly, the strangest outcome of a failed romantic relationship ever. In 2013, two young people who met on a dating site, met for the first time in person over a cup of coffee. Immediately the pair hit it off, and within a year they were engaged to be married. But shortly after their engagement had begun, cracks in their relationship formed and they broke it off. It seemed like they both were moving on and building new lives for themselves, until a very strange email arrived in one of their inboxes... then another email showed up.... then another.... and another.... and before long, people were getting attacked and others were getting arrested.

In 2004, a retired couple who had been living on a yacht, sailing the California coastline for the previous 2 years, learned they were going to be grandparents. They were so excited about it, they decided to sell their yacht and move back onto the land to live closer to their grandchild. The retirees quickly found a buyer for their boat, and they made plans to meet some of their family members back on land after the sale, but the couple never showed up. It wasn't until someone noticed some very strange things on board the couple's yacht that the mystery of what happened to them was uncovered.

In 1992, a young mother received a package in the mail that had no return address on it. When she brought it inside her house and opened it up, she found it contained a non-fiction murder mystery novel. She didn't know why it had been sent to her, but when she opened the novel up, she noticed someone had gone through and underlined several sections. At first, she assumed this novel must just be second hand copy and so the previous owner's notes were still inside. But when she actually read some of the highlighted sections, she immediately understood that someone was sending her a terrifying message... But this would only be the start of her nightmare.

In 1990, two college students, who lived together in an apartment, suddenly stopped communicating with their friends and families. After a few days of silence, the police were called to do a welfare check on them. When the police knocked on the girl's door, no one opened it, so they got a key from the building manager and opened the door themselves. As soon as they were inside, they called out for the girls, but they didn't call back. The police walked forward into the living room, and at first everything looked normal, but then they noticed something horrible on the couch...
