From setting up the shoots, prepping, editing, pre-production, filming, editing and posting. This stuff just doesn't happen on its own....it all takes time and I wanted the people who don't get it to try and get it.

For example, it will say "Your latest video is getting 30% less views in the first x hours compared to your average". That is damaging to ones mental state. Offer solutions YouTube, don't just tell me it's doing worse or better.

To kick off the year I take a look back at the last video we released in 2019, the Z6 / Z7 Review One Year Later...SORRY NIKON!!! That one stirred the pot and brought out some hate but it also brought out people who own the camera(s) and agreed with what I had to say.

Today I look at the definition of victim-blaming to see if I am a victim blamer. The reason I am discussing this is some people have said I should not yell at the "victim" who had their gear stolen from their car. I see it one way and some see it another way.

But here's the reason I make a big deal when this stuff happens. Because I want this to not happen to you. I don't want your gear to be stolen from the car.

I recently traded in $13,000 worth of glass to Allen's Camera and made a video about it. The title of the video is "GOODBYE Nikon...trading in $13,000 in Lenses" . That's a great headline/title for a video, I knew people would click it because it's super clickable.

As always some people call it Clickbait and I simply call it a really good headline that delivers. I discuss that aspect of it in this episode along with why I traded the gear in, what happens if Allen's closes and I didn't use my credit, how much credit did I get and more.

In this episode, I wanted to share how my brain can be a problem before a photo shoot. Sometimes my mind says "don't go do the shoot, you don't feel like it". But I've learned to ignore that and push through those bad thoughts. And at the end of the shoot, I feel so much better.

I've made the decision on which camera system I will be taking on my upcoming photo shoot.

I think it's the right decision as the right tool for the job is the reason i'm going with what i'm going with.

The debate continues on as to which system I should take on my upcoming shoot. I've flip flopped 37 times on which direction I should go and why. I can justify both systems but the problem is I have too many choices at the moment.

I've never really taken the Sony's on my own personal shoots. Where as i've used the Nikon Z7 extensively and have gotten some great results. I've also gotten some fantastic results with the a9 as well when photographing a little kid at 1.2 who wouldn't sit still. I got shots I would have not gotten with my Z7 because I would probably still be moving focusing points and miss the shot.

I made a few insta stories talking about what I think you are if you leave your gear in your car when you get out. The reason I am saying what I am saying is so you think twice when you're about to leave your gear in your car.

So I really messed up today. I deleted a video from YouTube that I thought was doing really bad but in fact I was getting false readings and it turns out it was probably doing really really well.

In my desire to want my video to do well (which it was but I didn't think it was), I actually ended up being the reason why it wont do well.

I got a txt from Sam Green (if you're not sure who he is, I explain it in the podcast). He asked me what I think about a specific cinema camera. I asked him why and he proceeded to tell me he's not happy with the video color from his Sony a7 III.

At that point, I needed to have a little talking to with Sam. There's NOTHING I repeat NOTHING wrong with the color of his camera. It's his issue and not something that's solved because he buys something more expensive.
