Believe It! A Naruto Podcast

In this week’s episode of Believe It!, the hosts reveal that they really don’t know anything about Naruto or any pop culture beyond it actually, but they are so sweet for trying. They do expose a lot about their lives, including all of their individual ninja vices and whatever the opposite of “hometown pride” is.   

Naruto engages in alternative learning and shows some good ADHD representation in media. Duncan lets everyone talk about Other Anime for a record amount of time. Orochimaru comes back in a big way and you can probably guess how elegantly we handle his return. The Tsunade simp seed is planted (ohhhh I should actually go to jail for typing that).

Believe It!

This episode of Believe It! is much like Kakashi and Lee's comas - a "mental trauma only" type thing! 

The hosts discuss some extremely stacked episodes of Naruto: Itachi and Kakashi face off, we finally get Sasuke's tragic backstory, and Itachi and Sasuke finally have their long-awaited showdown... which only adds pain to Sasuke's No Good Dirty Rotten Week. 

Kt bids you welcome to Itachi-world. Liam surprisingly hates Itachi the most out of everyone, and comes in hot with the fantheories. Dom continues to create his own Tsukuyomi nightmare realms for hosts and listeners alike by editing this podcast. 

Luckily, there's no Orochimaru this week. Hope that'll last!

Trigger Warning: At minute 45, Believe It! cast talks about Orochimaru's toe length for a while. Please listen at your own risk. 

Believe It! is back and ready to burst on the haters! In this episode, we cover the aftermath of the Naruto/Gaara fight and the assault on Leaf Village. Duncan reveals his Akatsuki-apologism with nonstop Itachi simpin', as the rest of the cast falls in love with Cooler Sasuke. Kt can't move past episode 12, as an unsuspecting character returns to her love list.

This week, the Believe It! hosts learn that Naruto is so bad for your eyes. Between puppets, bugs, and half-transformed demon Gaara, it’s really not worth looking. Duncan gets to talk about the plot of Naruto for one full minute. Does Dom just know the whole Pokédex? Should you ever send an Orochimaru gif to a lover? Did Kt miss an opportunity to say “Gaara-goyle” and decide to just write it here instead?  

We finally see Gaara's tragic backstory, which almost makes up his current-story grossness. Everyone loves Temari a lot. Sasuke’s Chidori brings out the worst in us, and we are mostly (not) sorry about that. Finally, Naruto and Sakura join the fight. 

Somewhere out there, Orochimaru and Sarotobi are still fighting.

Sasuke is back and KT is just thrilled. Dom defends Rock Lee by way of Piccolo, and reveals his real-life fitness inspo. Duncan has another bone to pick. Liam drops some bad animal facts. Sasuke makes Gaara bleed his own blood; everyone goes night-night thanks to some Ambien-jutsu. Orochimaru takes the fourth Hokage hostage inside the shadow realm. Pretty much nothing else happens in this very normal episode of Believe It!

In this episode of Believe It!, the hosts watch the last round of the Chunin exams. After a brief chat about all the cursed Naruto merch to sift through this holiday season, there’s an uncharacteristically serious discussion about Edgy Neji’s tragic backstory and his reasons for being (sad).  

It quickly gives way to Choji’s Chip Corner, Uchiha eye transplant jutsu, and “my dad can turn your dad's brain into mush.”   Dom has a complicated relationship with Japan. Kt has a worse diet that Naruto. Liam and Duncan bury a hatchet.

Sakura and Ino pay Sasuke a visit in the hospital, only to be blessed with finding Lee instead. Naruto lives out his (Dom's?) perfect day before the ultimate test from Jiraiya. The entire cast ends up in the hospital for your new favourite horror film starring Gaara, and watch the longest monologue known to Naruto. Liam still has beef with the logistics of the Sand Village's plan; Dom muses that Gaara's walls of sand might be ~emotional~.

The immediate aftermath of the first round of the Chunin Exams leaves the hosts feeling existential, but the Pervy Sage Jiraiya quickly becomes their entire reason for living. The whole gang finally unanimously love Naruto Uzumaki, who apparently just needed to ditch half of the cast of the show and adopt another father to reach his full potential. Liam takes the cast on the strangest (holiest) derailment yet. Kt ships Gaara and The Moon (who is a "she").

Believe It!

In a monumental tenth episode, the hosts celebrate and honour the podcast’s origins by watching Rock Lee vs. Gaara. Oh, there’s also Naruto vs. Kiba, and the Neji vs. Hinata fight (fight?) happens. Mostly this is a Rock Lee worship episode. You should have expected that.   

The cast of Naruto is a squad of sad puppies. Duncan basically cries about his sweet baby Lee the whole episode. Dom throws back to the preschool days when everyone could be as strong as Gaara. Liam pitches some totally good Alternate Fights. Everybody gets a bit sappy except for Kt who just gets rude.

Sasuke still can't read, but has somehow recently learned the word "Avenger" to compliment his Copy+Paste Jutsu. Orochimaru is basically a good guy to Liam, turning Garbage Boyz 2 Garbage Men. Dom has Shikamaru big brain. Duncan reveals his first real Naruto ship (aside from himself and Hinata).  

Sakura and Ino have one of the greatest fights and moments of character development in all of Naruto so far (Dom is writing this so he gets the final word hahaha suckers, Sakura rules Duncan drools).
