It’s not because I like to read, it’s because other people like to read and want to read my content in book form. Direct mail may be an older method of marketing compared to the things the internet is capable of, but for many businesses, it can still work tremendously in their favor.

Loved hanging with the guys over at Virgin Radio while I was in Dubai, talking about how recognizing fads and growth ahead of time was a massive opportunity - investing in Google ads, Facebook ads, a YouTube channel and more helped me grow my brand to where it is today, as well as Wine Library and Vaynermedia. We then get deep and start talking around the mentality that arises when you stop caring about other people's opinions, and roll into a cool live Q&A.

I don't want to watch netflix, go skiing, go to a beer garden - none of that sounds FUN to me. But it might be fun to you. This quick mashup is 100% about doing the things that YOU enjoy and not letting other people dictate what you should be doing with your time... If you want to work, work.

Guys, this was a big one, and a type of episode that I want to start pushing out a lot more. This is from a VIP strategy session in Phoenix where I sat down with a bunch of people to talk the economic collapse, extremes, the event business and a bunch more. This is one you need to hear! 

These three different original pieces all include different themes of winning - I go in and talk about family businesses and what it was like growing Wine Library, Vaynermedia, Vaynersports all as what essentially started as a family business -  then move into talking about a subject that stems from the topic of family - not letting anyone else judge what you're doing, moving into making sure you're living humbly and not being fancy.

It blows me away that people don’t realize that complaining about someone is actually giving them mental leverage over you.

As I reflect on it, the reason I don’t complain is probably more out of competitiveness than anything else — I just don’t want to give you the satisfaction that you have any say in how my life is going to play out. No one has say -- not my teachers, not the current state of political correctness, nothing.

This isn’t coming from a negative place, or wanting to secretly hurt other people that have hurt me. It’s about coming from a place of confidence and control.

I genuinely believe that the world is giving the “wrong” information to 20-somethings. This is not the time to go “safe” and “practical.” This is the time to be massively risk oriented. It’s time to go live in Bali for a year, or try to become Beyonce, or live with 8 roommates in a studio apartment hustling towards your passion. I have empathy for things like student debt … but this is the time to make the high risk moves around the things that’ll make you the happiest, even if you have to work more (or take a night shift job while you focus on your passion during the day). My advice for college grads who are trying to figure it out: Either work for someone who you want to become, or go all in on your own craft.

This keynote started out with a serrrriously fire Q&A - talking about the decision going to university - and how entrepreneurship being on a pedestal forces a view of "you need to be successful by 22".  Then going in to expanding on why I think eSports is going to be such a massively successful industry and what I mean when I say "you need to be making 500 pieces of content". 

So excited to have had the chance to sit down with Shiggy and talk everything about building personal brand, speaking gigs, the dynamics around working with family & a ton more - this was a really fun meeting that I think you'll all enjoy

If you asked me whether I’m more scared for kids growing up in the projects or trust fund babes? I’d say trust fund babies. Hands down. Kids growing up with struggle know how to grind and deal with adversity. But when you’ve had everything handed to you your whole life, you get soft … and it’s harder to deal with things like economic meltdowns or the problems that come with entrepreneurship. Wish more people understood that the biggest privilege you could have is mental privilege … people with money don’t always have it made!!
