It's not all private jets & fancy parties & stacks of dollars - being an entrepreneur is hard, it's lonely and it takes time, hard work, energy and sacrifice - and there's a lot of things that you don't hear. Entrepreneurship is cool right now, a bubble and I really hope that in 10 years everyone who thought they could build the business they wanted is gonna end up in the dust. <3

Really really fired up with how this keynote went for COTY, talking to their employees, focusing heavily into why company culture is so important to building a successful company, making employees feel safe and promoting productivity.

This was an all-time episode, where I sat down with my good friend Scooter Braun -  known for a number of top tier performers & musicians like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Psy and a ton more. Loved having him come in to talk about his views on the music and entertainment industry & how he started his company, SB Projects, representing massive talent - we take calls from viewers asking questions about getting signed, and give away an internship to Scooter's company ;)

One of the biggest mistakes I see people make are they think they're pigeon holed into sticking to the one thing they've been doing - but a bit part of figuring out what your thing is, is tasting more than one thing and changing up what you're doing, if you're not happy with it.

Fired up for this keynote I did in Orlando, Florida - a massive theme here is that it doesn't matter if what you're putting out is the highest quality possible, or rather that it shouldn't be stopping you from putting out content -  the attention right now is so underpriced that even mediocre content has a good chance at performing exceptionally. 

Fired up for these super-tactical business meetings, chatting with an apparel company looking for advice on growing & marketing their brand, a fan who bartered his way into a meeting with me that's looking for advice on how to scale his bartering business in Canada & expanding on how Pinterest & Facebook are still so valuable for retail brands.

The cannabis industry has massive potential because, as I see it, it's primarily build up of young people and entrepreneurs. Frankly, I'd go as far to as that the cannabis industry is going to make a huge impact in the marketing field because of the upfront restrictions they will face regarding being unable to use Facebook and Instagram ads.

FIRED UP for this keynote I did in the DC area, really honing in on why the internet is such a game changer for modern businesses & entrepreneurship - expanding into what it's like being an entrepreneur during the time that entrepreneurship got cool (now) and how and why it's changed so much over the last 40 years. I also talk directly to the people that think they can't make $100,000 a year, and why I really believe it's so easy now to accomplish this goal. 

The successful mindset of an entrepreneur comes down to not complaining or dwelling. I'm hearing so many people speak about their massive ambitions but simultaneously talk about how they don't work on the weekends or that they go home everyday at 6:00 PM, and then they have the audacity to complain that the results aren't coming fast enough. You NEED to be patient and understand that the only reason you want the results to come quickly is because you're trying to cover an insecurity and prove it to someone... Please, stay in your own head and put in the work. You can't sit down on the couch, think about a million dollars, and then expect to find a million dollars in your bank account. It just doesn't work like that... you have to put in the work.

I really wanted to share this talk about trusting employees, giving them trust and then learning how they operate from there rather than the traditional "trust is earned" stance. Also, for anyone that is confused, because I'm a very alpha character and I believe that the new "man" is growing in emotional intelligence and "soft skills". Kindness, empathy, and gratitude, which were once considered "soft" are now becoming cool.

This is a really fire mashup revolving around balancing your life & sleep that a lot of you need to hear ... hustling doesn't necessarily mean that you're working 22 hours a day without sleeping - I think sleep is one of the most important things - it matters what you're doing doing those 16 hours that you're awake. I also talk about how I think about "work/life" balance and my methods for keeping what I see as balance.

Fired up to have my long time friend & killer entrepreneur Scott Belsky on the show -  Scott is one of the founders of Behance, and has been involved in a number of other creative endeavors, working with Adobe, Sweetgreen, and other companies. We take a few questions from my First In Line Facebook group & a few calls from the audience, answering questions about starting content production & more. 

 I sit down and talk with The Eighth, a fairly new retail business attacking the white space they saw in the men's luxury underwear market. We discuss their early days in researching and identifying the market, luxury branding, SEM and SEO approaches, influencer marketing, content creation and the importance of documenting versus creating. For the listeners that have asked in the past, this is some really good insight into how I approach  introductory business meetings, evaluate the viability of new businesses, and suggest marketing strategies. this clip while I was in Florida giving a talk really brought out some different thoughts and ideas that I don't talk about a lot - focusing heavily on Drock asking about the way I parent & run a business versus the way my father did, which lead into a discussion about the nuances of running a business & being a parent, while still building the world you want to -  really really cool stuff here that I think a lot of you will enjoy hearing.

If your social media strategy on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and/or LinkedIn is focusing on macro/pillar content like a vlog, you're making a huge mistake. The micro content (small highlight clips) that is created from the pillar content is so much more impactful on social.

 I sit down with Lightspeed Ventures partner Aaron Batalion and Product Hunt founder Ryan Hoover to talk about their backgrounds in coding and development, how entrepreneurship is blending together into tech culture, and our thoughts on emerging cryptocurrency.

Really enjoyed writing this article about what I did in my late 20's and how I felt it was a pivotal part of my life - reflecting on what I did and what I'd do differently, but also talking about my points of view on what your options are in your late 20's.

Speed... is one of the big things that I push as an incredibly important factor when running a business & pushing out content - taking forever for something to be perfected, especially when it's a piece of social content ... it's more important to be timely than it is to "perfect" something, and this mashup expands on this ideal <3 

I understand what you're going to do before you do it. That's why I've been able to become successful. I understand attention and where the market is going which is why I'm able to capture that and push it towards sales, brand awareness, or any other area.

Artificial intelligence (AI), artificial general intelligence (AGI), and artificial super intelligence (ASI) are obviously really hot topics right now, but I think there’s a big lack of clarity in the system... I usually hear people mention that AI is going to take our jobs or that it will destroy our economy and force us to use a Universal Basic Income (UBI) as a result, when in actuality, I think it’s going to be a tool that will allow us to become faster and focus on more important tasks. In the same way that people thought tractors would get rid of the jobs of farmers, we actually just got faster and they allowed us to achieve more.

Anyone who follows my content knows that being a salesman is a huge part of who I am, and that I massively respect anyone in the sales game -  this mashup puts together a few tips and tricks that I think are great advice for anyone that is looking to step up their game, or just needs a little help or push in the right direction. <3

Look, the internet has created vast amounts of opportunity, no matter what your foundation is... Frankly, I'm of the mindset that if you have faced adversity that you're actually better off than people who haven't faced adversity because you're hungry and willing to put in the work to get yours.

This throwback is a really, really big one that I'm super pumped to resurface today - I gave a fireside Q&A back in 2016 for LinkedIn, and had them ask me a ton of live questions - talking about the way I perceive myself, the reasons why some people feel pressured into entrepreneurship, or building a business when they should be focused more on being that number 17 guy at Facebook. I hope this helps you learn how to grow a small business. Scaling your company and hiring your first employees can be a little tricky, but if you pay yourself as little as possibly and make hiring your top priority, it will pay itself off, you just have to understand that none of the good stuff will come fast.. you're not going to make a million dollars and chill on a yacht six months into starting your company. Have the mindset that it's going to take you the next 21 years. That's how you'll win.

this is a super important clip - it's a phone call that Hasan Minhaj & I took while he was on the #askgaryvee show.
