Everyone is fast forwarding TV ads and clicking away from banner and popup ads. I ate shit when I started Vaynermedia until it grew to what I wanted it to be. The three ways we’re going to consume something - Visual, Audio and Written word. Podcasting and sound is about to blow up. By becoming the media company in their organization and grabbing that industry attention at a level that’s open they will win. Start focusing on where the attention is cheapest and in the highest volume, and grab it. Hope you enjoyed this talk <3

When I'm on, I'm on. Last week in Bucharest, Romania was one for the books. The guys at Brand Minds really know how to turn it on and boy was there some energy in that room. It doesn't matter about what ISN'T a play, or what you wish could be happening in your field - all you can do is react to what the best play or network or tactic is actually relevant in your field. Hope you all really enjoy this mashup from the other day. There's some great lessons in it. Most of all, you need to stop doubting yourself and overthinking things. Start DOING instead of sitting there and wondering "should I?" - Execute and things will happen. There's no reason to think of process as a constraint in your life. You need to break out of it and start making things happen. In this mashup I also talk about my thoughts on where Universities are headed, how to think about starting to grow an audience and following, why you need to not dismiss negative comments - use them to GROW. Loved loved loved having my DAD, Sasha Vaynerchuk on the show this week. Anyone that's in a family business NEEDS to hear this one. We go back and forth about topics like what to do when you feel you're underpaid in a family (or any) business, talk to a father-son business pair about when and how to start trusting your children to lead and take over a business, and you get an EXTREMELY in-depth look at where my work ethic and practices came from. This "Brawl in the hall" - talking what it really takes to win in business with former General Electric CEO, Jack Welch & Suzy Welch was amazing. We talked about an enormous range of topics, from what scares us in the future of business to social media and the fundamental rules of business that will never change. My personal favorite that Jack suggested: hire great people. I hope you love this one guys! ;)

Everyone that’s trying to decide whether to give the power to their sales or their marketing teams need to stop and give this one a listen. No matter how hard you try, or which side you’re bias to, you need both of these teams in your org. Marketing folks take flak for spending a lot with a few large successes, and the sales teams working lots of things on a lower level. Stop hating Jim in marketing or Julie in sales. Listen up and figure out how to combine the two and build a more successful org. ENJOY!

If you're building a business or just building your personal brand higher you NEED to give this one a listen. I gave a talk at Stanford University alongside Tyra Banks to people that are focusing on their own personal branding. It's time to start realizing that you need to be giving away more than you're asking for - that's the only way to see results and growth. If there's one key point to take from this it's that it doesn't matter HOW many followers your have. It's what value you provide to them, and how big of an impact you have on them. If you saw any of this week, you know it was a busy one all around. There's some incredibly important bits in these highlights that everyone should hear. Get ready for this one guys because it's complete fire. I loved hanging with Hunter Pence, a MLB player for the San Francisco Giants and his wife Alexis Pence, a YouTuber and E-Sports gamer. We answered questions about where the future of sports (including e-sports!) is headed, how to react to others trying to change your personal mechanics, how our spouses have influenced us the most, and the NUMBER ONE thing we'd say to our high school selves, if could right now. This clip from my Udemy course is key. Once you’re able to identify and combine both your passion AND strength, you’re setting yourself up to be successful. Combining my passion for wine and strength in building businesses led to the success of Wine Library and creation of VaynerMedia. Recognizing what your strengths & weaknesses are, and then reaching down into your DNA to find out exactly what and how you’re going to execute on those will without doubt push you towards success. Just because you’re an excellent marketer doesn’t mean you’re the best at creating every single video or piece of content. Look at what you’re best at and execute on them, and find someone that complements you to complete the pie.  Listen deep to these lessons, learn them, and enjoy them!!

This keynote I gave in London was nothing but FIRE. As you guys might know, I prefer Q&A since most of my stuff is out there already, and in this one we answer questions about growing a successful business in one big shot versus slow and steady, how to decide when to say no to an opportunity, making mistakes in your business and career, and much more. Patience is key my friends. Nothing worthwhile has been built overnight and everyone selling you a short-term fix is selling you bullsh*t. This keynote I gave at CUNY City College this past week was one for the books. I absolutely loved talking to these kids especially because I feel like I relate to them so closely because our upbringings were similar. My family and I were immigrants and nothing came easy. To all of you young entrepreneurs, the key is PATIENCE. It took me 20 years to build VaynerMedia. All the work that put me in a position to start the business didn't come easy and it took real time and effort. Guys, this talk I gave at BCG Digital Ventures was great. Anyone that knows me knows my feelings on short term economics; they get in the way of the big picture and cause failure long term. I’m all about the long term game and the people in this room understood that. Attention is what you need to be investing in- look around. What are 99% of the people walking around you looking at? Their cell phone. This could change at a moment notice, but you need to be reacting to the world instead of struggling to drive it. Give this one a listen, you won’t regret it.   ENJOY!! ;)

A little while ago I got the chance to sit down with my man Chase Jarvis and talk about how to stand out when there’s so much chatter happening around you. Thumbstopping power is key right now. You need to be able to produce content that provides enough value that a consumer stops and watches your content instead of blowing right past it. Thinking you’re going to drive results within 90 days just isn’t going to happen. Deploying patience and keeping consistent, even if that consistency is in change is what you NEED to be doing if you’re trying to become successful. Give this one a listen and stick to it. My man, professional bodybuilder and Arnold Classic winner Kai Greene co-hosted this episode with me. We sat down and chatted the importance of time management in a daily routine, making sure your priorities are in place, getting the motivation to get up and put in the work that puts you in the place you want to be (whether that’s getting to the gym in the morning or putting the work in on your brand). Not every day is going to be your best, but the only way to grow is by continuously putting the work in. In this one we discuss what the most important year of my life was (it’s not what you think), the best way to work with and around your mentors and the people you look up to, taking a brick and mortar business and turning it into an online ecommerce brand, and exactly what I would have done differently if I could go back to college. Want to push towards success? Then take this one to heart. Everyone makes mistakes, but what you do with those mistakes is what makes you. Stop dwelling on them and use them as an example of what not to do again. Not one leader will tell you they’ve had everything go perfectly and exactly as planned. How your employees feel doesn’t depend on the free granola, or fancy amenities. Here’s what I really think about all those goodies. It narrows down to feeling safe and letting them know they have room to grow. It’s true, it really is. If your company has issues, installing a water fountain with a thousand flavors, or a beer tap isn’t going to cover it up and make everything all better. It comes down to the people and how they feel. Enjoy this one and think about what your company instills.

Young entrepreneurs listen up! This one’s for you. If you’re gonna go start a business, there’s some tips in this you’re going to want to hear. Whether you’re B2B or B2C,  building up a brand from the beginning is a delicate process, but there’s a few key insights here to make it easier. In this keynote, I talk about how culture is key to building a trusted brand, whether you should be advertising on Facebook or LinkedIN, and where I see Alexa & smart devices going. Here’s an interview with my man Aubrey Marcus, CEO of ONNIT, on his podcast. He’s a mastermind entrepreneur and fitness expert who built at $28 Million fitness brand in 5 years. I loved getting down into what makes a true entrepreneur - Staying true to your own DNA, not counting on other people to get you to that next level, and learning checking your feelings at the door, because nobody cares about you as much as you. Going to six birthday parties every week isn’t what’s going to push you ahead, so think hard about those negative patterns you’ve been set in. Make sure you tune into Aubrey’s podcast because this man knows what he’s talking about. You’re going to love it! ;)

Small business owners, this one is for YOU. The questions here stem from the BioGuard conference I spoke at a few months back and boy were they fire. If you're a small business and you're looking to grow locally then it's a no-brainer that you need to harness the huge amount of tools sitting in front of you. In this one we cover questions relating to where to get started with social media (hint, Facebook Ads and down and dirty customer data) and why you NEED to learn to build social strategies into your existing markets. Provide value and keep attention by adding to a conversation - not just jumping straight into “WE SELL THAT!” mode.  Would love to know what you guys think about this one !!

Now’s the time to be willing to work for nothing and get yourself to where you need to be. Stop craving the short term gains and think about where you want to be when this window is gone. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know exactly what you want to do - it only matters that this is the 5 year window for you to attack the life that you want to win. Class is easy. Life is not. This is what it’s all about. Whether you’re growing a brand or starting a new company, there’s only one thing in your absolute control: WORK. Practice it. Preach it. This talk at USC is not only one of my most popular talks but it's one of my FAVORITES and it gets me SO HYPED. This one was interesting because I was speaking to an entrepreneurship class and I just don't think you can learn to be an entrepreneur which makes for an interesting dynamic ;) To be successful you need to be adapting but stay loyal to your strengths.  If you’re a true entrepreneur you understand the importance of taking your idea and running with it — there's no time to waste. You never know what tomorrow will bring and timing is massively important. These lessons don’t stop, no matter what stage of your career you're in.  Macro-patience vs. Micro-speed is everything. Don't dwell on your mistakes and just keep moving forward. Give this one a listen because you do not want to miss it.

This year’s SXSW was a HUGE one for me .. can’t believe it’s been 10 years already. Loved talking about the value of attention & why you NEED to stop listening to the negative people around you.
