Hey Dog Lover,🐾

What if the most powerful thing you could do for your relationship with your dog… was nothing?

In this final episode of our Untrained Dog mini-series, we’re stepping into the quietest and most confronting part of connection—stillness. No cues. No fixing. No constant feedback. Just presence.

We’ll talk about why “doing less” is often the missing piece in our dog’s sense of safety and how to practice being withyour dog in a way that builds real trust—without needing to earn it through obedience or effort.

Let’s stop doing and start being.

Hope you enjoy this one.

🐾 Hey Dog Lover,

Let’s be honest — most of us were taught to talk at our dogs before we ever learned how to listen to them.

In this second step of our Untrain Your Dog to Build a Better Bond series, we’re flipping the script.

This episode is all about the magic that happens when you get quiet. Like, really quiet.
No obedience cues. No “Sit!” or “Stay!” Just presence, awareness, and curiosity.

We’ll explore:
→ The Be Quiet Game: what happens when you stop talking and start observing
→ How to “Ask the Dog” without commands — using movement, intention, and gentle gestures
→ Why your energy, posture, and presence already speak volumes
→ And the first big step to learning how to talk dog… is learning how to be still

It’s all rooted in one of my favourite Nelson-isms:
"If you want to learn to talk to your dog... shut your mouth."

Hope you enjoy this one.

Hey Dog Lover,🐾

What if the behaviours you’ve been trying so hard to train… aren’t actually what you want?

In this episode, we’re kicking off Untraining Week with a powerful mindset shift. We’re diving into the heart of what “training” really means—and why letting go of task-based obedience can open the door to deeper connection with your dog.

You’ll hear me unpack:

  • Why traditional obedience cues might be missing the mark

  • What “heel,” “sit,” or “stay” are really about (spoiler: it’s usually not about the command itself)

  • How to spot the difference between compliance and communication

  • What it means when your dog checks out on a walk—and why that’s a how interesting moment, not a mistake

  • Ways to reconnect by observing, listening, and letting your dog be a dog

Whether you have one dog or five, this episode will help you start noticing the subtle ways your dog is already showing you what they need—you just may need to untrain your ears (and ego) to hear it. 😉

Hope you enjoy this one!

Hey Dog Lover 🐾

If you caught Part 1 of my conversation with Nelson Hodges, you already know the kind of deep, perspective-shifting wisdom he brings to the table.

In this second half of our talk, we go even deeper into the emotional landscape of dogs—and how our being matters so much more than our doing. We unpack the question at the heart of it all:
What is a dog, really?
Not just behaviorally—but emotionally, relationally, instinctually.

Together, we explore:

  • Why most trainers are missing the point

  • How your internal state shapes your dog’s world

  • What leadership looks like when it’s rooted in calm, connection, and relevance

  • And why understanding your dog on a feeling level changes everything

If you’ve ever felt like your dog is misunderstood by mainstream training advice, this conversation will feel like coming home. You’ll walk away seeing your dog—and yourself—through a new, compassionate lens. And probably saying “How interesting!” more than once. 😉

Hey Dog Lover,🐾

This episode is one for the books. I got to sit down with my mentor and dear friend, Nelson Hodges, for a conversation that honestly felt like cracking open the soul of our work with dogs.

We explored one foundational (and often misunderstood) question:
👉 What is a dog?
…and why getting that right changes everything else.

This is part one of a two-part conversation, and believe me, you’ll want to listen with a pen in hand and your curiosity dialled all the way up.

Because Nelson doesn’t just talk about dogs… he helps you see them. Really see them.

In this episode, we dive into:

  • Dogs can smell your thoughts ( I know this one hit me hard!)

  • How a dog’s survival instincts shape their behaviour — and how our responses often miss the mark

  • What it actually means to “know” a dog on their terms, not ours

    And so much more!

Expect to be challenged. Expect to be inspired. And most of all… expect to say “How interesting!” more than once. 😉

Hope you enjoy!

🐾 Hey there Dog Lover,

We’re diving into Part 6 of the Peace in the Pack series — and today’s episode is all about a sneaky dynamic that shows up in a lot of multi-dog homes (especially when you’re adding new dogs into the mix):
Us vs. Them.

Dogs are deeply wired for social structure. In their world, there’s with us… and there’s not with us. And when we humans unknowingly reinforce that division — through the way we set up our homes, introduce new dogs, or even talk about “my dog vs. your dog” — it creates unnecessary conflict and tension in the pack.

In this episode, we’re unpacking:

  • Why dogs are hardwired to value group cohesion
  • How crates, furniture, baby gates, and guest seating can accidentally send the wrong message
  • What “us vs. them” looks like in foster and blended households
  • Why even you can become a high-value resource that shifts the group dynamic
  • Real-life examples (including what I learned from my own pack and boarding dogs)

You’ll walk away from this episode with a clearer picture of how to structure your environment and mindset to support pro-social, pack-centered living — without accidentally drawing invisible battle lines.

I hope you enjoy this one.

🐾 Hey there, Dog Lover,

We're back with Part 5 of the Peace in the Pack series — and today, we're getting into one of those deceptively simple questions that opens the door to a whole lot of deeper conversations:

Should your dog be allowed on the furniture?

My answer? Yes.
…And also maybe no. 😉

This episode isn’t about setting rules — it’s about understanding what levels mean to dogs. From who gets the couch to who sleeps on the bed, your dogs are constantly making choices based on strategy, safety, and social standing.

In this episode, we dig into:

  • How elevation influences canine communication (and conflict)
  • Why leadership is more about clarity than control
  • The role of the den (your bed!) in pack dynamics
  • How little moments — like who moves who — say a lot about the social structure
  • Why some dogs show tension in elevated spaces (and what that actually means)

Plus, I’ll share a behind-the-scenes look at Irie and the occasional “toothy whispers” she shares with the rest of the pack — and what that taught me about space, status, and fairness.

I hope you enjoy this one.
See you next week for Part 6.

🐾 Hey there, Dog Lover,

We’re continuing our Peace in the Pack series this week with a topic that hits close to home for so many multi-dog households: possession and resource conflict.

Ever said, “Ugh, my dog is so jealous!” when one dog pushes the other away for attention?

Yeah. Let’s talk about that.

In this episode, I’m diving into:

  • What dogs actually value (spoiler: it’s not always food)
  • Why guarding you is often the biggest source of conflict — and how our human emotions add fuel to the fire
  • How possession shows up in subtle (and not-so-subtle) ways
  • The difference between healthy play and tension-filled control
  • Why “fairness” is a human concept, not a canine one

I’ll also share one of the biggest lightbulb moments I had comparing my house pack to my kennel pack — and what it taught me about my own role in the tension I was seeing.

If you've ever dealt with growling over toys, snippy moments between dogs, or tension when one dog comes in for love, this episode is for you.

I hope you enjoy this one.
See you in the next episode.

Hey Dog Lover,

You’ve probably heard it before — or maybe even said it yourself:
“He’s just social!
“She’s friendly!
“They love other dogs!”

But here’s the thing: “social” isn’t always what you think it is.
And in a multi-dog home, it might actually be the source of your tension.

In this episode, we’re digging into the four types of canine sociality — asocial, antisocial, social, and pro-social — and how this spectrum plays out in real-life relationships between your dogs (and between you and your dogs, too).

We’ll talk about:

  • Why “friendly” often means boundaryless

  • Why some dogs bulldoze others while others withdraw

  • How you might be acting social instead of pro-social with your own dog

  • And what a truly pro-social pack actually looks like

This episode might change the way you see your dogs — and your role as a leader — for good.

Hope you enjoy this one. See you in the next episode!

Hey Dog Lover,🐾

The truth is, a peaceful pack isn’t built by making your dogs follow the same training, the same rules, or the same boundaries.

Because every dog brings their own unique Dogonality™ to the table.

It’s easy to say “rules, boundaries, and expectations,”… but what we sometimes miss is that those rules might need to look different depending on the dog in front of us. And that’s not just okay — it’s essential.

In this episode, we’re talking about how to honour the individual dog — their play style, their processing style, their personality — while still guiding the whole crew under the shared umbrella of a pro-social pack.

This is where leadership meets relationship.
And it changes everything.

Hope you enjoy this one. See you in the next episode!

Hey Dog Lover,

We’re kicking off a brand-new podcast series today called Peace in the Pack — and if you’ve ever found yourself saying, “Ugh, this dog is driving me nuts,” then this one’s for you.

In today’s episode, I’m sharing a perspective shift that might just blow your mind (in the gentlest, most supportive way possible, of course 😉).

What if the dog that looks like the “problem child” — the one barking, pacing, reacting — isn’t actually the root of the issue? What if they’re just the messenger?

I’ll tell you the story of Jamie, her anxious dog Daisy, and her sweet new rescue Homer — and how what looked like a simple case of “fix Daisy” turned out to be a much deeper pack dynamic that was quietly playing out under the surface.

We’ll talk about:

  • How canine social pressure flies under the radar

  • What subtle behaviors to watch for (even from the “chill” dog)

  • Why reactivity is often a protest, not a personality

  • And how leadership means observing the whole pack, not just the loudest member

Because peace in your home starts with seeing what’s actually going on — not just what’s barking the loudest.

Hope you enjoy this one — see you in the next one! 🐾

Hey Dog Lover 🐾

It’s the Monday after Bootcamp… and Thanksgiving here in Canada. 🇨🇦

So I wanted to offer something simple, grounding, and honestly—really powerful.

Because training probably takes up, what? Maybe 5–10% of your day tops?
So what’s happening in the other 95%?

That’s where your dog is learning the most about who you are—
and where your bond is really being built.

In this episode, I’ll walk you through 3 simple things you can do today (no training required!) to strengthen connection, deepen trust, and help your dog feel safe in your everyday life.

🔹 Be Quiet
If you want to talk to your dog... shut your mouth. (Yep—Nelson said it first. 😉)
We spend so much time narrating, cueing, correcting—
that we forget to actually listen.
Try this: spend 5–15 minutes moving through your world with your dog in silence.
Observe. Notice. Let the quiet speak.
Because the quiet moments are where the real communication happens.

🔹 Notice How You Move Through Space
Your presence affects your dog—every time you move, shift, or reach.
Leadership starts with noticing, not controlling.
So today, just pay attention:
How does your dog respond when you walk into a room or step closer?
No fixing. No labeling. Just awareness.

🔹 Be Curious About What Matters to Your Dog
If your dog stops to explore something—go see what it is.
Not to redirect. Not to control. Just to witness it with them.
That tiny act of curiosity says, “What matters to you, matters to me.”
And that’s where mutual relevance—and trust—grow.

You don’t need to “do” more training to build a better bond.
You need:
✨ More silence
✨ More noticing
✨ More genuine curiosity

When you change how you show up in the everyday moments, your dog will feel it—
and your relationship will grow stronger.

So… which one can you try today?

Hope you enjoy this one!

Dear Dog Lover 🐾

Someone once asked me what good training looks like.
And I said — it looks like nothing at all.

Because when it’s good — when the relationship is solid — you don’t have to do much.
It’s quiet. It’s steady. It’s felt.
That’s not control.
That’s leadership.

In this episode, we’re peeling back the layers on a word that’s tossed around a lot in the dog world — leadership — and looking at what it actually means to your dog.

Because here’s the thing…
Leadership doesn’t look like “being in charge.”
It looks like awareness.
It looks like calm in uncertainty.
It looks like trust you can feel.

You’ll hear stories about Gunther (of course 😉) and how real leadership isn’t loud, reactive, or over-commanding — it’s quiet consistency. It’s being the one who notices, who moves first, who says with energy alone, “I’ve got this. You don’t have to worry.”

“You don’t have to be louder than your dog.
You just have to be calmer than their fear.”

This episode is for you if:

  • You’ve been trying to lead but it feels like micromanaging

  • You’ve ever confused obedience with influence

  • You’re ready to show up in a way your dog actually feels safe following

Because leadership isn’t positional — it’s relational.
You don’t earn it through control.
You earn it through clarity, consistency, and calm.

Hope you enjoy!

Dear Dog Lover 🐾

You’ve probably heard it before — “Your dog’s behavior problems are rooted in fear.”

And while that might be true, fear itself isn’t the problem.
Fear is normal. It’s necessary. It’s survival.

In this episode, we unpack what really happens when your dog feels fear — and how your response to it can either build trust or break connection.

You’ll hear stories about Gunther, my young pup, and how sitting quietly in a field turned fear into calm… and how standing tall during a siren helped him regulate through trust instead of redirection.

Because here’s the truth:
✨ Fear doesn’t need to be fixed. It needs to be felt, seen, and walked through — together.

If we rush to correct or distract, we risk missing the very thing our dogs need most: a partner in survival.

This episode is for you if:

  • You’ve ever tried to “train away” your dog’s fear

  • You’re curious about what real emotional safety looks like

  • You want to learn how to lead with calm confidence (instead of commands)

Hey Dog Lover 🐾

This one might come with a little ambient background noise, courtesy of my son mowing the lawn — because hey, life doesn’t pause when you're trying to record a podcast. 😅

But while he’s out there pushing a mower, we’re in here pushing back on one of the most common (and misguided) pieces of training advice:

“Just ignore the behaviour you don’t like.”

Here’s the truth:
Ignoring your dog’s behaviour can frustrate your dog as much as it does you.
And it definitely doesn’t help them feel safer or more supported.

In this episode, I’m sharing:

  • Why ignoring behaviour can actually make things worse

  • The story of Gunther and the crate — and how I handled it (hint: it wasn’t with treats or silence)

  • What it really looks like to model the behaviour you want instead of waiting for it to appear

  • Why your dog needs leadership, not just passivity

The truth is: your dog isn’t trying to be difficult.
They are being a dog, and you have to give them feedback.

Do you agree with this behaviour? Or not? Either way, they need to know.

Hope you enjoy this!

Have you been told you’re the problem in your dog’s behaviour?

Maybe it was a trainer.
Maybe it was the internet.
Maybe it was your own inner critic whispering that if you were just more consistent, more firm, more “alpha” or more positive… your dog would be fixed by now.

Here’s the truth:
You are not the problem.
But you are the solution.

In the Calm Down, Dog! Bootcamp, we’re leaving behind the blame — and picking up the real tools that create lasting change.

Over 3 days, I’ll show you how to:

  • Stop trying to train your dog out of behavior that comes from stress or confusion

  • Shift from reactivity to relationship

  • Lead in a way that feels good for both of you

  • Understand what your dog really needs from you — and how to give it without bribery or burnout

This Bootcamp isn’t about obedience.
It’s about ownership — of your energy, your leadership, and your connection with your dog.

🎉THE CALM DOWN, DOG! BOOTCAMP IS BACK 🎉— and I couldn’t be more excited.
It’s happening October 7–8, and we’re diving deep into the real work of living with dogs — not just training them.

In this episode, I’m sharing the real reason I got a new German Shepherd puppy… and the realer reason why I’ve been rejected by rescues and breeders more than once.

Yep.
Despite working professionally with dogs for over 20 years, I’ve had doors closed on me simply because I don’t subscribe to the “purely positive” training model.

Today, I’m pulling back the curtain on:

  • Why I don’t train with treats or corrections — I train with relationship

  • How my pack helps raise balanced, confident dogs (including Gunther)

  • The difference between controlling behavior and creating trust

  • Why relationship-first leadership is more misunderstood — and more effective — than you think

And yes… I’ll be teasing a powerful moment I caught on video that I’ll be sharing exclusively inside the Bootcamp.

If you’ve ever felt like mainstream training advice doesn’t work for your dog — this one’s for you.

Hope you enjoy this one!

Hey Dog Lover! 🐾

In this delightfully spontaneous episode, we’re keeping it real because, well, life happens! I’m sharing a little behind-the-scenes peek into my world: the whirlwind of getting a new German Shepherd puppy named Gunther, a recent jaunt to England, and some curious insights I picked up about dog culture across the pond.

Hey Dog Lover! 🐶
Welcome to Part Three of the Beyond the Bark Series! In this final episode, we’re wrapping up my contribution to a recent article on barking with some of the most practical — and controversial — questions around the topic.

Here’s what we’re covering today:

  • How furniture placement can actually reduce barking (yep, where your couch goes matters!)

  • Using tools like curtains, crates, and X-pens to prevent escalation and create calmer spaces

  • Why too much “free reign” often leaves dogs feeling like they have to control too much real estate

  • The controversial topic of bark collars, shock tools, and water guns — and why I believe leadership, fulfillment, structure, and boundaries should always come first

  • My closing thought: the key to everything with dogs is learning to understand them, not forcing them to fit into our human world

This episode ties it all together and helps you rethink barking not as a nuisance, but as information you can actually use to lead your dog more clearly.

xoxo,

Tracy 💛

Hey Dog Lover! 🐶
Welcome to Part Two of the Beyond the Bark Series! In this episode, we’re tackling the questions about puppies and adult dogs when it comes to barking.

As part of my contribution to a recent article on barking, I was asked:

  • With puppies, what can we do to prevent barking at things like the doorbell, the garbage truck, or people passing by?

  • What about adult dogs? Is it too late to train them out of barking?

Here’s what we’re unpacking today:

  • Why the real key for puppies isn’t “stopping barking” but socialization and exposure

  • Why it’s absolutely not too late for adult dogs — yes, they can learn new tricks!

  • My go-to tip for helping your dog stop alert barking in real life situations

This episode will give you practical steps for both puppies and adults so you can respond with clarity and confidence.

xoxo,

Tracy 💛

Hey Dog Lover! 🐶
Welcome to Part One of my brand-new Beyond the Bark Series! This is the first of three episodes where we’re digging deep into one of the most common (and often misunderstood) dog behaviors: barking.

Fun fact: I was recently asked to contribute to an article on barking (how interesting, right?), and in this episode I’m sharing some of the answers I gave to the journalist’s questions.

Here’s what we’re covering today:

  • The main reasons dogs bark — and the most common triggers

  • The difference between alert barking, demand barking, and separation barking

  • Why barking isn’t always “bad” — it can also come from fear, play, or even curiosity

  • Whether barking is natural or a learned response (hello, nature vs. nurture!)

  • And yes… whether some dogs are simply more prone to barking based on their genetic makeup

This episode will help you stop seeing barking as “noise” and start seeing it as communication.

Hope you enjoy!

xoxo,

Tracy 💛

Hey Dog Lover! 🐾
Ever feel a little weird about saying “no” to your dog?
Like you’re doing something wrong or “un-positive”? 😬

In this episode, we’re unpacking the myth that “no” is a bad word in dog training.
We’ll explore why clarity isn’t cruel, why disagreement doesn’t mean disconnection, and how using both yes and no helps build trust, confidence, and a real relationship with your dog.

If you’ve ever stood there, frozen, wondering what to do next—or if you’ve been stuck in the all-or-nothing world of dog training lingo (looking at you, “aversive”)—this episode is for you.

It's not about perfection. It's about understanding.
It’s about seeing the world through your dog’s eyes and becoming someone worth following.
Because “no” isn’t the enemy—confusion is.

Hope you enjoy this one.

Hey Dog Lover,

Have you noticed your dog barking more lately? Acting out in ways that seem “out of the blue”? Maybe every time someone walks in—or out—the door, your dog launches into full-blown emotional mayhem. 😅

Here’s the truth: your dog feels it too.

Whether it’s back-to-school chaos, a kid leaving for college, grief, stress, or just a shift in your household energy—dogs don’t miss a beat. And what we often label as “bad behavior” is actually a cry for stability, connection, and leadership.

In this episode, we unpack:

  • Why transitions affect your dog more than you think

  • How emotional energy (yep, yours) shows up as reactivity, anxiety, and barking

  • Why this isn’t a training issue—and what to do instead

  • The real meaning of trust-based leadership when you’re the one feeling unsteady

If you’ve ever found yourself saying “my dog is driving me bananas right now,” but deep down know they’re just trying to keep up with your changing world—this one’s for you.

Hope you enjoy this one,
—Tracy

If your dog struggles when guests come over—whether it’s barking, hiding, or pacing—this episode is for you. Inspired by Jenee from the Living Beyond Obedience community, we’re digging into the Build Your Brave Protocol: Guest Edition so you can create a space where your dog feels safe and even starts to build confidence with each visit.

We’ll talk about:

  • Setting up a comfort zone before guests arrive

  • Responding based on your dog’s personality and needs

  • Prepping your guests so they’re part of the solution

  • Reading early signs of discomfort before things escalate

  • Knowing what “success” actually looks like for a fearful dog in guest situations

You’ll walk away with a step-by-step plan to help your dog move from just surviving visits… to feeling a little braver each time.

Hey Dog Lover 🐾

We’ve all tried it—a new harness, a head halter, or that “miracle” tip from a midnight scroll. Sometimes, these quick fixes help… and that’s okay. But they’re not the full answer.

In this episode, we’ll explore:

  • How quick fixes can give you the breathing room to start real change

  • Why true progress comes from calm, consistent leadership—not just tools

  • The danger of staying “loud” in your communication with your dog

  • How to keep building connection and trust after the quick fix moment has passed

Your biggest takeaway? Quick fixes can open the door, but relationship and leadership are what build the house.

Hope you enjoy this one!

Ever found yourself saying, “I’ve tried everything and nothing is working…”?

If your head is spinning and your dog still seems confused, you’re not broken—and neither is your dog.
You’re just stuck in the noise.

This episode is about why trying everything might actually be the thing holding you back… and how doing less can finally bring the calm and clarity you’ve both been craving.

Inside this episode:
🐾 Why system-hopping creates noise, not progress
🐾 How conflicting techniques confuse your dog (and rattle your own confidence)
🐾 What happens when we rush to do instead of slowing down to see
🐾 Why quiet observation is your most underrated leadership tool
🐾 A gentle practice to shift from chaos to connection—starting today

Spoiler alert: You don’t need to try more.

Hey Dog Lover! 🐾

Okay… so I don’t love the term “fur baby.” 🙃
But you know what? If you’re showing up, leading, loving, and learning alongside your dog—you are still parenting. Just not in the “let’s dress up for brunch” kind of way.

In this episode, I’m sharing a story about the time a parenting coach absolutely went off on me for suggesting that dog leadership and parenting might have something in common. Spoiler alert: her own story accidentally proved my point.

We’ll talk about:

  • Why “pet parenting” gets a bad rap (and how to do it better)

  • The 5 principles of parenting (from expert Dr. Aliza Pressman) that directly apply to dogs

  • How to lead your dog without dominating—or disappearing

  • Why repair matters more than perfection (yep, even with your dog)

This one isn’t about raising “obedient” dogs—it’s about becoming the person your dog feels safe to follow.

  • “Am I messing this up?”

  • “Will my dog ever forgive me?”

  • “Why is this SO hard sometimes?”

Then press play. You’re not alone—and you’re doing better than you think.

Come check out the Fearless Framework—the relationship-first way to lead your fearful or reactive dog with heart, not just habits.
Hope you enjoy this one!

Hey Dog Lover 🐾

You love your dog.
But if you're feeling frustrated, short-tempered, or just plain tired—this episode is for you.

Because here’s the truth:
You were told to train more. Socialize more. Enrich more.
But what happens when you don’t have anything more to give?

If having a dog is starting to feel like a full-time job... how interesting.

In this episode, we explore why the relationship might feel heavier than it should:

  • Why constant cueing means you’re always leading the dance (and that’s exhausting)

  • How micromanaging your dog signals a lack of trust

  • Why bribery might feel like connection—but isn’t

  • And how over-correcting chips away at your dog’s confidence and your own

This isn’t about trying harder.
It’s about trying differently.

Let’s trade control for connection.
Let’s shift from obedience to leadership.
And let’s build a relationship that feels sustainable—for both of you.

Hope you enjoy this episode. Be sure to leave a rating, review, or a comment to let me know you're enjoying this.

NEXT STEPS 🐾👣
If you’re ready to stop micromanaging and start mentoring
The Fearless Framework helps you:
🐾 Build a relationship rooted in trust, not transactions
🐾 Let go of constant correcting and managing
🐾 Lead with calm, confident clarity—without burning out

Hey Dog Lover 🐾

You see a scared dog—and your heart jumps in to help.
So you crouch down, soften your voice, toss out a “hi sweetie”… and maybe even offer a little face-level fist bump of encouragement.

You know... "smell my hand, I am a good person"

And yet... the dog shrinks back even more.
Yikes.

Here’s the truth:
When dogs are feeling uncertain, we often get weird. We shrink ourselves, change our energy, or turn into a Disney side character trying to soothe a fear that actually needs leadership, not pity.

This episode is your reminder that being calm, clear, and normal is often the best thing you can offer a fearful dog.

We’ll unpack:

  • Why your tone, posture, and energy matter more than your words

  • How well-meaning “comforting” behaviours can actually confuse and pressure your dog

  • What dogs really need in moments of uncertainty (hint: not a squeaky-voiced cheerleader)

  • How to show up as steady—instead of shrinking down

When in doubt, don’t overdo it. Don’t over-emote.
Just lead. And don’t make it weird.

Hope you enjoy this episode. Be sure to leave a rating, review, or a comment to let me know you're enjoying this.

Hey Dog Lover,🐾

If you’ve ever looked at your dog and thought, “But you know this… why aren’t you doing it?” — I see you. And I promise, you’re not alone.

In this episode, I’m pulling back the curtain on what’s really going on when your training isn’t landing—and why it might not be about training at all. 🤯

We’ll unpack 3 signs that your dog’s behaviour has less to do with disobedience and everything to do with trust, leadership, and nervous system overwhelm.

Here’s what we dig into:

  • Why your dog knows it—but doesn’t do it when it counts

  • How treat-bribing and over-cueing can quietly erode trust

  • What your dog needs instead of more reps or louder commands

We’ll also talk about that “I feel like a treat-dispensing robot” vibe—because the goal isn’t constant managing. The goal is calm, connected leadership that actually works in real life.

💭 What if it’s not about getting your dog to listen louder… but helping them feel safer to follow?

Let’s get curious (you know I love a good “How interesting!” moment), and gently shift from control to connection—one paw print at a time.

Hope you enjoy this one,
Tracy 🐾

Hey Dog Lover 🐾
What if your biggest goal right now wasn’t “get the dog outside”—
but build enough trust that they want to go with you?

In this episode, I share a real-life story from one of our new Facebook group members: Wendy, whose 6-month-old shelter pup is afraid to even step outside.
No walks. No potty. Just pads and a whole lot of uncertainty.

Sound familiar?

Here’s the truth:
Fearful dogs don’t need to be forced into bravery.
They need someone to believe in first.

We’ll explore:

  • Why trust is more important than “getting outside”

  • The power of daily patterns to calm a nervous system

  • How to stop pushing and start following your dog’s curiosity

  • What “BE With” looks like in real life

  • Why comfort zones aren’t a problem—they’re a starting point

This isn’t about “training through fear.”
It’s about becoming someone your dog can lean into, not away from.

Hope You Enjoy This One!

Cheers

Tracy

🐕 Next Steps:

If your dog shuts down, resists going outside, or just doesn’t feel safe in the world yet—this is exactly why I created the Fearless Framework.

Inside, you’ll learn how to:
✅ Break the fear cycle
✅ Build real trust (before asking for more)
✅ Create a calm, predictable rhythm
✅ Go from “potty pad only” to peaceful, connected walks

🎉 This isn’t obedience.
It’s the foundation for everything that comes after.

Hey Dog Lover 🐾
Ever feel like you’re head-over-heels for your dog… but the feeling’s not exactly mutual?

You’re bringing the snacks, the snuggles, the “who’s a good boy” energy—and he’s over there sniffing dirt like you don’t even exist.
Yeah. We’ve all been there.

This episode is your loving-but-honest wake-up call:
If your dog only checks in for treats, ghosts you in new places, or forgets you exist on walks—it’s not because they don’t love you. It’s because they’re not into you… yet.

We’ll cover:

  • Why dogs aren't loyal to feelings—they're loyal to experiences

  • The “He’s Just Not That Into You” dating metaphor that explains so much

  • How to stop begging for attention and start earning curiosity

  • The “Play Hard to Get” strategy to make yourself magnetic again

  • How connection → curiosity → leadership (in that order)

This isn’t about obedience.
It’s about relevance.
And it starts with you becoming the most interesting thing in your dog’s world.

Hope you enjoy!

Tracy

P.S.

Next Steps 🐶

Want your dog to want to be with you—even when life is distracting?
Inside the Fearless Framework, you’ll learn how to:

✅ Build relationship-driven relevance that sticks
✅ Flip “meh” into “wow” using curiosity-based strategies
✅ Guide your dog’s focus—without begging, bribing, or barking
✅ Become someone your dog chooses to follow, even in hard places

No more chasing. No more clinging.
Just a calm, confident connection that changes everything.

Hey Dog Lover 🐾
Does your dog panic the moment you pull into the vet clinic parking lot?
Do you start sweating before the car's even in park?

Vet visits with a fearful or reactive dog can feel like emotional combat.
You’re doing your best—but somehow it still ends in trembling, barking, and that deep, gnawing feeling: “Why is this so hard?”

Here’s the truth no one tells you:
You’re not failing.
Your dog’s not broken.
You’re just both navigating a world that doesn’t understand how safety is built.

In this episode, we’ll unpack:

  • Why vet visits overload your dog’s nervous system

  • How trauma sticks—and shows up in places you least expect

  • What calm leadership actually looks like in the chaos

  • A practical survival guide for tough vet days

  • A story of one very shaky car ride (and the lessons it taught me)

If you’ve ever wished the vet visit could just be less dramatic, this episode is your go-to plan for calm, clarity, and connection—even in the hard stuff.

Hope You Enjoy!

Tracy

Next Steps 🐾

If your dog spirals at the vet—and you spiral right along with them—you don’t need more treats. You need a better way to lead.

Inside the Fearless Framework, you’ll learn how to:

  • Build trust before the crisis hits

  • Handle high-stress moments without shutting down

  • Walk into the clinic like you’ve got a plan (because you do)

  • Be the calm in the chaos—even when your dog is losing it

This isn’t about “fixing” your dog.
It’s about becoming someone they can follow through the hardest stuff.

Come and be a part of an incredible community of dog lovers like you! I can't wait to start this journey with you.

Hey Dog Lover 🐾
You’ve done everything right.
You’ve loved hard. You’ve tried training, treats, supplements—even energy work.
But your dog still barks at strangers. Still panics on walks. Still can’t be trusted with guests or grandkids.

So what gives?

This episode is for the dog people who are holding heartbreak in one hand and a leash in the other—wondering why nothing’s working, and what to do next.

We’ll dig into:

  • Why obedience and affection aren’t enough for fearful dogs

  • What it actually means to be relevant (hint: it’s not dominance)

  • The leadership shift that changes everything: “How interesting.”

  • A simple “BE With” practice to rebuild trust—no commands, no food

  • A story from the barn that shows what real leadership looks like when it matters most

If you’ve ever whispered “I just want to trust my dog again…”
This conversation is your starting point.

Hope you enjoy!

Hey there, Dog Lover🐾

You packed the treats, braced for meltdowns, and hoped your reactive dog wouldn’t unravel the moment you left your driveway. But surprise! On vacation, your fearful dog was calm, confident, even easy.
What gives?

In this episode, I’m diving into what I call the vacation effect—and why a change of scenery can reveal a whole new side of your reactive or anxious dog. We’ll talk about how triggers, habit loops, and environmental pressure can influence your dog’s behavior way more than you think. And how trust-based leadership, not treats or obedience drills, is what helps your dog truly relax—even away from home.

You’ll walk away understanding:

  • Why fewer reactive triggers can lead to better behaviour

  • How your own nervous system impacts your dog’s regulation

  • What travel success tells us about trust, confidence, and relationship-based training

This isn’t about romanticizing vacation—it’s about recognizing what’s possible when your dog feels safe, supported, and seen.

Hey Dog Lover,🐾

Ever feel like you're never doing enough for your dog? Like your to-do list is longer than your leash, and somehow the walk still didn’t happen?

You’re not alone. In this episode, we’re talking about the pressure to “do more” and why that mindset might be getting in the way of the meaningful connection you and your dog both crave.

From stories about juggling dogs and real life (hello summer chaos 🥵) to a surprising lesson I learned from a teacup during Toastmasters, we’ll unpack:

  • Why the word “more” can feel like a mental brick wall 🧱

  • How guilt and shame sneak into our leadership (and how to send them packing)

  • The surprising power of being over doing

  • Why a 10-minute connection can mean more than a 2-hour checklist

  • And how to start replacing "more" with "meaningful"—starting today

You'll hear from real dog lovers just like you, explore the psychology behind the overwhelm, and get practical tools to find fulfillment without the frenzy.

Because guess what?
Your dog doesn’t need your perfection. They need your presence.
So take a breath, be the reason, be the reward… and maybe today, just be.

Hope you enjoy this one!

In this episode, I share a powerful moment that shifted the way I think about leadership, clarity, and connection with our dogs. It's all about learning to ask instead of tell—and why that one shift makes such a big difference.

We’ll explore how your posture, tone, and intention shape the way your dog responds—and why asking with curiosity builds trust, while telling often creates tension.

Whether your dog is bold, sensitive, or somewhere in between, this conversation will help you lead in a way that feels better for both of you.

Hope you enjoy!

Hey there Dog Lover! 🐾

It’s fireworks season!
And while we humans love the festivities... our dogs? Not so much.

If your fearful dog hides under the bed or your reactive dog goes into full panic mode at every boom, this episode is for you.

In today’s chat, we’re diving into why loud noises like fireworks trigger fear-based behaviours—and how you can start building a more confident, resilient dog without relying on obedience commands, endless treats, or outdated training methods.

We’ll talk about:

  • What’s really happening in your dog’s nervous system during stressful events

  • Why relationship-based training works when traditional obedience doesn’t

  • How to build trust and relevance so your dog sees you as someone worth following

  • The difference between managing fear vs. leading your dog through it

If you’re ready to step into calm, connected leadership, I’m here to show you it’s possible—without dominance, distractions, or “just let them bark it out” nonsense.

Let’s replace confusion with clarity—and fear with confidence.

Hey Dog Lover 🐾
Does fear stop your dog in their tracks?
No barking. No bolting. Just frozen—staring, trembling, unable to take a single step forward.

That’s not stubbornness. That’s survival mode. And for these sensitive souls, the stillness isn’t calm—it’s fear.

No treat in the world will get your dog to move if their brain is locked in freeze mode. And no amount of “it’s okay” will convince them it is.

In this episode, we’re digging into:

  • Why your dog won’t move (and why forcing it doesn’t help)

  • How to gently lead your dog out of the freeze and into trust

  • Why stillness is a red flag—and what real progress actually looks like

If you’re living with a sensitive soul, you need to be with us inside the Fearless Framework.

Hey Dog Lover 🐾

You’ve probably heard that “leadership matters.” But what does that actually look like in your daily life with your dog? No jargon. No treat pouch. Just real-life leadership your dog can trust.

In Part 2 of this two-part series, we’re diving into the Secret Sauce—the stuff that makes your dog want to follow you, even when you’re not “training.”
Spoiler alert: it has everything to do with how you show up and nothing to do with how many reps you do.

You’ll learn:

  • The Leadership Scorecard (and how your dog keeps track every day)

  • Why relevance is everything—and how your dog sees you through a survival lens

  • What true fulfillment looks like (and why you have to be part of it)

Plus, I’ll share one of my favourite quotes from Dr. Bruce Fogle that’ll shift how you see your role in your dog’s life forever.

If this sounds like the kind of connection you’ve been craving, you’ll feel right at home inside the Fearless Framework—my relationship-first program for dog lovers who want more trust, less tension, and a partnership built on calm leadership and real understanding.

Hope you enjoy,

Hey Dog Lover 🐾

Have you ever looked at your dog mid-chaos and thought, “He should know better by now”?

You're not alone. That thought creeps in when you're tired, frustrated, or just not up for another round of treat-pouch training. But what if the real issue isn't your dog "knowing better"... it's that the kind of training you're doing doesn't feel sustainable—or satisfying?

In this episode, we’re unpacking the hidden pressure behind traditional dog training and talking about what to do when you just don’t want to train anymore.
(And no, you’re not a bad dog person for feeling that way.)

You’ll learn:

  • Why you’re not lazy (you’re just not a professional trainer—and that’s okay)

  • The real reason traditional obedience doesn’t stick

  • What to focus on instead: connection, trust, and a leadership style that fits your life

We’ll also reflect on your current relationship with your dog—and invite you to redefine it in a way that actually works for both of you.

If this conversation resonates, you’ll love what we’re doing inside the Fearless Framework—my online program and community that teaches you how to lead with trust, clarity, and calm.
It’s not about obedience. It’s about becoming someone your dog wants to follow.
