He starts off by chatting about people complaining after the event. In this case, a lady with mobility issues who complained that a lot of the exercises in the program were not suitable for her as she was in a wheelchair. If you let me know that you have special requirements we can help. That's what the email and forums are for so please use them.

Visit healthypostnatalbody.com and get 3 months completely FREE access using coupon code "3months" because Post natal health is a right, not a privilege.

Intro music, as always  "Indestructible" by Noah Smith.
Playing us out; "Afterlight" by Jessie Villa.

All licensed on Soundstripe.

You can support HPNB, and Wellbeing of women, by going to this blog first and clicking on the Amazon banner in it before you give Mr Bezos your hard-earned money.

It won't cost you a penny more, and you get to give to charity, how awesome is that?

Why I don't believe in mealplans

 Peter waffles about the amazing charity you all voted to support;

https://www.wellbeingofwomen.org.uk/ will be getting 10% of whatever Amazon affiliate money you generate. So now, just by buying what you were already going to get, you can support HPNB and this amazing charity...and it doesn't cost you a penny!

And then he talks about meal plans, why he doesn't think they're all that useful. Explains why they usually don't work and what they often miss. And of course, he suggests an easier way to make the changes you want to make.

Post-natal obesity and Covid-19

Peter waffles about one of the most interesting questions he's been asked in ages; Is being classed as obese, at 8 weeks post-natal, a problem with Covid-19?? After all, obesity is a real factor when looking at the severity of Covid-19.

It's a superb question and definitely has an answer worth listening to.

We also touch on meal-times and if it matters when you eat.

The 6 week check up is a waste of time

27 min

Send us Fan Mail

Peter waffles about the 6 week check-up. Why is it a postcode lottery? Why is it not standardised? Why is that the only check-up you get? And why, why, why Delilah?

There's also a brief mention for NCT's post-natal advice for women but MORE IMPORTANTLY;

Which charity do you think Peter should donate 10% of the Amazon kick-back to?

It's a choice of 2;

The Women's Equality Party

or

 Peter waffles his way through 30 minutes touching on the subject of "how to look for the real solution to a problem". There's no point in paving over the cracks when, with a bit of effort, you can resolve the problem completely. Peter waffles his way through some myths about C-section recovery. He talks about scar tissue recovery and massage

 (Video here on how to perform the massage).

When can you start exercising after a C-section? No, REALLY, when can you start exercising?

That takes a solid 15-20 minutes and then he waffles, and I mean really waffles, about the NHS, COVID-19 and the importance of listening to experts. Oh, and would it be beneficial for you guys to just get 3 months free as standard or does that not really change the price of fish?

Peter waffles on about apples...WTF?

Apples are what he calls things you shouldn't really be doing but always end up doing. Such as popping a child on your hip whilst you're doing other things. Yes it's bad for your posture but how else should you do it? Things like eating foods that bloat when you have Diastasis. Instead of cutting out those behaviours and focussing on the impossible maybe there is another way?

He also namechecks Joe Wicks, Bill Burr and the a******e who owns Wetherspoons..I promise it's still a post-natal podcast :)

The Post-Natal Immune system and COVID-19

34 min
View

Send us Fan Mail

 In a topical episode Peter waffles on about the immune system in Post-Natal women.

Because of the Covid-19 virus this seems particularly timely.
Is the immune system compromised post-natal? Can you "boost the immune system?" What is the immune system anyways?.

Should you be super careful if you're only recently given birth?
In addition he makes one, or two, inappropriate jokes and has a little pop at profiteers who claim to be "helping" people who are stuck in their homes during these difficult times.

During this whole Covid-19 crisis you can get 3 months completely free access to healthypostnatalbody.com by using couponcode "3months"

Check out https://www.healthypostnatalbody.com if you have a bit of time and want to see what all the fuss is about :)

Language around giving birth and pregnancy

 Peter waffles on about the language we use when dealing with women who have given birth and issues arising from pregnancy. You know, the whole "rainbows and lollipops" approach. It really isn't helping you.

The Michelle Wolfe Stand-up special he mentioned is called "Joke Show" and is available on Netflix and ridiculously funny.

Check out https://www.healthypostnatalbody.com if you're looking for a post-natal exercise program that won't be triple the price.

Post-Natal Depression and exercise

In this episode Peter waffles on about Post-natal depression. What can cause it and how, in some cases, exercise and diet will help resolve it.

If you're suffering from PND please always speak to a healthcare professional, ESPECIALLY if it's quite serious. It's much more common than you think.

Here's a link to the NHS guidelines for treatment I mention in the bit where I point out the gaps in the treatment of PND.
